Why was Goku so hesitant to use Kaioken against Ginyu?

All he needed to do was do a small burst Kaiokenx2 to one-shot Ginyu and then go with Gohan and Krillin to Frieza's spaceship so why does he seem so afraid to use it? I mean at this point he should be able to withstand Kaiokenx10 so why is he so afraid of using x2?

I guess he wasn't used to fighting something at the huge level of strength he had obtained (especially since he obtained it in what, six days?).

I don't think he was actually hesitant to use it.

Ginyu asked for his true power so he or it. Goku was just showing Ginyu what he was made of since Ginyu wanted to check it out.

Well , If you remove Goku and put Future Trunks in this situation he would have done it cuz he don't fool around , Goku didn't use it because he was having fun maybe or he was saving energy for Freeza

I'm pretty sure it was mentioned that Goku wanted to save his energy for Freeza. Scuffling and going all out on Ginyu would've weakened him.

I don't know. I mean taking out Nappa with Kaioken didn't seem to weaken him for his battle with Vegeta. If anything you'd think he'd be more weakened by messing around, fighting for longer and taking hits from Ginyu.

If he really was just holding it back to have fun then that's one more thing to add to the ever-growing list of Goku's selfish deeds. I mean Gohan and Krillin could have been done in by Vegeta while he had his fun with Ginyu. And I don't see how the sudden massive gains he'd made over the 6 days would hinder his ability to use Kaioken. I'm pretty sure he used it just to fly to where the battle was after arriving on Namek.

Quid pro quo really.

Ginyu let Goku go when Jeice tried to double team him. Honoring this (more than he probably should have), Goku gave him a chance to leave peacefully
We Super Saiyans are in a league of our own.

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

Saving for Freeza. Why play around in a form that is risky to use and very damaging to the body? He didn't need it for Ginyu.

But he did need it for Ginyu. Ginyu's maximum was 120,000 and Goku's without Kaioken was 90,000. And he wouldn't need to play around. At Kaiokenx2 his power was 180,000 so he could just knock out Ginyu in one punch in a small Kaioken burst and that would be all there was too it. By this time Kaiokenx2 should be completely risk free for him considering he could handle higher levels by this point.

The only reason I can think is that he wanted to draw out the fight, I mean, he could use KKx2 without trouble during the saiyan saga, then he says he can use KKx10 during the Namek saga, not to mention that he can sustain a KKx2 without effort against Ginyu.

So yeah, there's no real reason for him not using.

I don't think he was hesitant at all. Goku doesn't just immediately use Kaioken in a fight. He fought Captain Ginyu and when he realized how strong Ginyu was Goku decided he needed to use a Kaioken x3

You got me. I looked it up and you're right.

The only real example is that Goku knew if he used Kaioken he would easily beat Ginyu and wanted to prolong the fight out simply because Saiyans are obsessed with battle. This has happened before and is probably the only legit answer I can come up with to this one.
