How's that seems possible ? Roshi stoped training ages ago and he still at the same level , same for Freeza and his family , there's one explination for this which is that Gohan forgot how to fight not that he lost his power , thoughts on this ? |

I don't think Roshi really did maintain all the power that he had before he stopped training. After all, Korin remembers Roshi being perhaps as strong as Goku after his training with Korin, who was much stronger than Roshi at the budokai. |

The difference you're overlooking at Frieza and Roshi is control. 1) Gohan needs an emotional catalyst. He was so strong at Cell because of his rage. He's the only half breed born with a tail. He's the only one aside from Pan in GT shown (until Vegeta in bog) to draw sheer power from rage. He didnt remember how to be that mad, yet that in control. 2) Body control is something they had over him. Yes Frieza wore out when he maxed out and Roshi only uses his buff form for max kamehamheas, but they knew their bodies. Gohan hadn't fought in 7 years aside from Goten, who was not overly skilled. The thing is in that 7 years Gohan grew, he grew from smaller than Vegeta to bigger than Goku. He didnt know how to fight at all with his new limb size, as he used to get up close, use his speed and defense, but at Dabura especially in the anime, he can't get in close at all no matter how much he tries so everything is sloppy (with him getting hit or cancel in a blow with a blow). I just think he wasnt used to the new body and he forgot how to harness his emotions which is where the vast part of his power came from at Cell |

Well, who says Roshi doesn't do any light training? And Frieza is an alien, at the end of the day nothing says how he gains that much power. |

I remember it being suggested that Gohan's loss in power could've simply been that he wasn't mad when he transformed into SSj2 against Kabito. So it could possibly be that he never actually lost power, but that his rage added onto it. Also, when people say "weaker", they aren't always talking about power. Skill and wit factor into a fighter's ability as well. Gohan, due to him not fighting for so long, had lost his mental edge. Vegeta mentions this when Gohan fights Dabra. But it's also possible that human, or Saiyan/Human bodies work differently than Pure Saiyan bodies or other species. When Goku throws the rock across the water at the beginning of DBZ, Roshi notes that it didn't look like he'd lost power like he'd expected him to, which suggests that normally people lose power from not training, or not training as hard as they did previously. As for Roshi, there's no evidence to suggest that Roshi wasn't stronger when he was younger, but Roshi himself is not a normal human. Edited by Ketchup Revenge, May 29 2013, 04:02 AM.

I don't think Freeza even needed to train to become that strong. And Roshi can only access his full power by putting incredible strain on his body. His Daizenshuu entry expresses him having lost strength given his elderly state: ![]() |

Where do people have. A healthy Full Power SSJ2 Kid Gohan, with the Big Hidden Power Boost, like he got added when he killed Cell. That allowed him to kill a 100% Super Perfect Cell at 50%. He was, at 50% weaker than Super Perfect Cell, and with a distraction from Vegeta. Gohan after he went all out. And completely overwhelmed Cells attack. And considering in the Babidi Saga. Goku says, if you can tap into the full extent of your hidden power "no one can beat you. No one!" Vegeta was referring to Gohan's stable power level at SSJ2 throughout the fight, when comparing himself and Goku to Gohan. In my opinion, in power: SSJ3 Goku > SSJ2 Kid Gohan"Full Hidden Power" > SSJ2 Teen Gohan"Full Hidden Power" > SSJ2 Goku = SSJ2 Majin Vegeta > SSJ2 Kid Gohan > SSJ2 Teen Gohan = SSJ2 Vegeta. And while Gohan got weaker over the time skip. I don't think he got a lot weaker. It was mainly his lack in skill that was holding him back, and what Vegeta was getting so annoyed at.
