Once Goku took off the weights Tenshinhan as a single being was basically useless, so far hehind Goku he couldnt see his movements..probably 1 shot range for Goku. So Tenshinhan decided to divide his power but unlike 4 separate beings, Tenshinhan's multiform works as a cohesive unit and conscious..and with 12 eyes all working together he could see Goku. Despite each being very very weak, only one quarter his individual strength. Tenshinhan in multiform is superior to 4 seperate individuals one quarter his solitary strength.

Google Chrome Favourite Manga A Song Of Ice And Fire	Goku was implied to be slighly above Piccolo for the whole fight, yet even when he went giant Goku didn't have an hard time making him fall, meaning he kept the advantage. This plus the absence of direct stataments implies that growing in size doesn't increase the Power Level at all.

Almost as useless as Tien's multi form. tien's multiform is at least a good training technique. you are always guaranteed to have a sparring partner on your own level in terms of strength and skill. not ideal, but definitely better than nothing (or chiaotzu)
	list of canon sources: the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga. list of non canon sources: everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality. for those that blindly follow word of god

If that's valid, an argument could be made for the non-canon Namekian giant technique increasing ki.
