Because in that case Gohan wins, very easily mind you. Goku's overall better skills and abilities will pull off the win in a regular match at equal levels but it won't be easy. It's going to take his full power, using almost everything he has to take Gohan down in battle like this. Goku finally gets Gohan down to actually beating him and then the kid pops in a senzu and suddenly Healthy Kid Gohan>>>Weakened Kid Gohan and just one shots him. Skills and power help int he long run, it's not going make Goku take his son or anyone else at equal levels to town. It's just an advantage that will overall give him the edge. It won't help when your opponent can suddenly get full health and you're still gasping for breath and bleeding after the first huge fight.

I think Goku ill beat Gohan at first I don't have Gohan controlling a hard situation very calm and he's inferior in Gokus moves to I think,Goku would beat him first but then with senzu bean he would crash Goku who would be weakens by his previous fight with weakened Gohan
