Well, there's something I don't understand. When Gokuu uses it for the first time we only see 2 after images. Where was the 3rd that made it be ''triple'' zanzouken / afterimage? Was it in the sky and we didn't see it. |

Goku's version of this technique seems to be slightly different than Jackie Chun's version. The obvious difference between the two is that there's a third component to Goku's version, however, we don't see if he'd tried to create a false image with that third version, which was actually his real body. The difference seems to be more about Goku projecting two false images, and hiding from his opponent in a separate location; instead of the original version which projects two false images, but the person is hidden inside one of those images. |

But, I think it's logic to assume that there was a 3rd zanzouken of Gokuu in the sky that Jackie hadn't realized. Because, when there are more than two after images the user completes a super high speed circle. I drew this because I can't really explain through words. Double zanzouken: Spoiler: click to toggle Here the user makes high speed circular path around the opponent and reduces speed (for a split sec) at two specific points where we see the after images. Triple zanzouken: Spoiler: click to toggle Here the user begins by making a half circle around the opponent(on the ground) and then continuing the path through the air right above the opponent and landing where he first began and making the same path - Continuously with high speed. Here the user reduces speed in the three specific points we see the three afterimages.(This is how Gokuu used HIS afterimage. Though you can make as many zanzouken as you want with the first concept, which is easier too. The reason Gokuu used the 2nd concept is because he wanted to confuse Jackie Chun and attack him from above with an aerial zanzouken, not from behind.) Phew. |
