Last time I checked, it sucked. Not only was it a poor release in Japan it was a poor release outside such as in the US as well. I'm sure someone has more direct knowledge on this however. |

GT was not successful in Japan. It was cut short due to poor ratings there. Fans felt it was a poor, lighthearted knockoff of their beloved anime. I know this because I have been to Japan 3 times and have many Japanese contacts there. |

Actually from what I understand, GT was only slated for about 40 Episodes (Basically the Black Star and Baby Sagas) but pulled out a second season and then the TV Movie "A Hero's Legacy." You know, same way that Beast Machines pulled out a second season after TFormers G1/G2's 4 seasons and Beast War's 3 seasons (I know, I keep comparing Transformers to Dragon Ball, but that's functionally our closest American Equivalent when it comes down to production and lore). |
