Offer a rating for the Dragon Ball related guidebooks out of 10. They are: Daizenshuu - supposedly official guidebook, came in 7 volumes, supposedly AT approved. GT Perfect Files - Documentation about all things GT. Claims that Gohan is still ultimate, even though he can use SSJ. The screenwriter of Battle of the Gods claimed that GT writers were careless about that. V-Jump - some magazine or something, I don't really know, but they talk about the DBZ movies. (In)famously giving SSJ Gogeta a power level of 2.5 billion, less that twice as strong as Broly's 1.4 billion. My ratings Daizenshuu - 5/10 - some interesting information/artwork, but most of it is wrong, not a reliable source. Tells us Gohan used SSJ2 against Dabura, gave very weird PLs (Mr. Popo>>>King Piccolo>Kami??) Perfect Files - 2/10 - attempts to (IMO) retcon GT mistakes and gives pretty basic/obvious information otherwise. V-Jump - 2/10 - fails miserably at power levels. Daiz - 3/10 - Some info is ok , but PL just screws everything. The others , I would care less. GT later not. |

Daizenshuu - 7.5/10 Very informative and useful guidebooks. Their uselessness is exaggerated due to fans who focus merely on the power level portion of the seventh volume, which is probably less than a few pages out of dozens that don't focus on power levels. Power levels aside, there are a few mistakes and/or contradictions spread throughout, but they honestly shouldn't be used to justify throwing aside seven entire books' worth of information that does aid in discussion, as they can be explained away or in some cases ignored. GT Perfect Files - 8.5/10 I have only read the first volume and a few bits of the second volume, which hasn't been translated yet (although I do own it), and from that I can say they're also quite useful since GT can sometimes be difficult to make sense of and aside from these two books, not a whole lot of supplemental material exists for this portion of the series. They're nice to have in debates and can help dispel some of the more infamously incorrect/exaggerated "mistakes" or "plotholes" in the show. V-Jump - 4.5/10 I don't know much about this one aside from the dastardly inaccurate power levels, so I can't rate it much higher. |

Daizenshuu - 7/10. It has good and interesting information, but provides massively glaring errors here and there. GT Perfect Files - 10/10. From what I've seen of them, particularly the 1st volume, there's absolutely nothing contradicting the original work of it, unlike with the Daizenshuu. V-Jump - 1/10. Practically just battle powers, many of which are horrendously inaccurate or something you could simply get with Daizenshuu #7. |
