How come it had to be Android #16 that caused/helped Gohan tap into his SSJ2 power? It was awesome how things went down but I felt like there could of been a more "the bomb" way that things went down. The transformation came more from peace than a badass moment. What's up? |

Yeah, I was expecting Cell to just keep pushing Gohan... then you hear this loud scream, Cell turns around and Gohan just snaps Transforming into an SS2. That's what I thought was going to happen. |

Instead.. Broken to peaces, Android 16 makes such a wonderful and badass thing happen. I really dunno about this one. hmm. |

I didn't like to, honestly. I thought it was way to subtle for what was about to happen... I guess you could lean on the cliché and say the calm before the storm, but that doesn't really work because Gohan wasn't in a fury and took his time. |

They could have had it so that when Piccolo convinces Goku to help Gohan he actually goes down and continues fighting Cell with everything he has and eventually gets killed causing Gohan to go beserk and transform. In the long run things would have worked out the same. | |

AT didn't see any place for Android 16 to have any place after Cell Saga as Android #18 was already there. Even if he did, Gohan would have too many friends, (Goku, Piccolo, Android #16, Krillin.) Also, he wouldn't be any major part in Buu saga as Android #18 was too. |

Gohan's SSj2 was a demonstration in his ability to control the release of his hidden reserve, which was the one thing that he'd never been able to do before. He used his knowledge of transforming (from how to go Super Saiyan) to transform again into a more powerful form using the ki from his hidden reserve. |

Well yeah, originally SSJ2 was just MSSJ + Gohans Hidden Power unleashed and under his control. Until Akira changed his mind on it. And that Gohan in fact unlocked a new Super Saiyan level, and his Hidden Power was the catalyst, and boosted him a little beyond what he would have been if just SSJ2, without Hidden Power. I preferred how it originally was: Base > SSJ > USSJ / MSSJ. And Gohan used MSSJ+Unleashed Hidden Power. More transformations felt unnecessary. Edited by Raiken, May 2 2013, 06:11 PM.

Gohan is highly empathetic and compassionate -- if you notice, he is literally unable to become enraged unless his friends & family are in danger; himself being in danger doesn't even cut it. Now you have #16 who makes the greatest sacrifice in DBZ history, possibly greater than Majin Vegeta's -- #16 knew Cell would most likely destroy him if he tried to help Gohan and as a result, he would never exist again being an android without a spirit. Gohan knows that not only is #16 dead because of his current inability to release his anger; he knows that #16 is gone forever, sacrificing himself because he had believed in Gohan. Pretty heavy stuff to add on to everyone else getting brutally beaten up in front of him |

16 was really just plot. I don't know if this is in the manga but in Kai right before 16 attacks Cell Gohan basically says Fu*k it and his hair starts to go up a little. Cell had pushed Gohan there already 16 was merely stalled and then unleashed the beast. |
