Prison Break- Not bad, just got repetitive to a point it lost its charm Lost- First 2 seasons made me believe that this would be the greatest TV show ever, right up there with The Sopranos. Unfortuately from season 3 and on it started to suck Modern Family- Simply not funny anymore, lost its originality Family Guy- Became a political show rather than a comedy one. The Simpsons- Repetitive, and obsolete. Heroes- Got so boring I actually never watched it till the end. Dragon Ball (anime)- GT Supernatural- Now this is an interesting one. I think the series would've ended fantastically with Sam dead in Hell. The season after that (6th I believe) sucked bad, but after that the series has been enjoyable again, just not as good as the first 5 seasons. And now some great/fantastic series that finished before going bad: The Sopranos, South Park, Dexter, The Walking Dead, Seinfeld, Fraiser and Friends. Edited by -Freeman, Apr 28 2013, 07:18 PM.

South Park and Walking Dead are still going. They shouldn't be included since they still might run on for too long. I think Buffy the Vampire Slayer ran on for too long. It should have ended with Buffy sacrificing herself. Whereas its spin off show Angel ended at the correct time regardless of what you thought about the finale. Quantum Leap, Star Trek DS9, Star Trek Voyager and Star Trek The Next Generation all finished in the right place in my opinion. The original series should have stopped after two seasons. The third season was awful. Whereas Star Trek Enterprise should have had at least one more season. That was just starting to get good when it got cancelled. |

Let's see. Went On Too Long Family Guy - Worked on Shock Value and gross-out humor. Just done now, can't do it. Dragonball Z - Ugh, I've ranted about the Buu Arc for many, many posts. Twelve types of Jacked Up. Jurassic Park - Why did we do the third movie? It was good to see Sam Neil again, but not like this. Not like this. One Piece - They're STILL in the Grand Line? It's been damned near 600 episodes, go find One Piece and leave us alone Luffy! Pokemon - It's still on? F*ck! Why can't Ash become a master? Just why? Smallville - It left Smallville and became Metropolis. Make the show Metropolis and/or Superman Begins or stop it now! Ended on a High Note Sonic SatAM - Now here me out. Granted it ended early, but the way the comics have gotten lately, it looks like Sonic dodged a lightspeed bullet. I'm actually glad it ended with a victory, and just the threat of remaining evil. Arrested Development - There was no way to keep it like that for more than 3 seasons anyway, so ending it with a perfect book end to where it started was great. We got great character development, and had a great time. i think it was just a little too high brow for your average fox/general audience and they couldn't keep up. So pity that. Bird of Prey - The Exact opposite of Smallville, this show wasn't on long enough! We got a few good villains and a batman moment or two, but I did wanna see the mythos expand a bit more. But hey, it did well with what it had and didn't delve too much into shoehorning in old villains for nostalgia. Reaper - The Son of the Devil and Chosen one of god. as well as a home depot employee. Loved it! Ended with him still locked in his contract, and did end before it was supposed to, but it was still tense and ended on a high note. Kinda like Sonic SatAM, only without the pulse pounding ultimate victory to end it on a real high note. But at least the main characters finally got together, and there is hope for the future. Transformers Prime - Allegedly ending this season. I could insert the same explanation for TF Animated, Beast Wars and Beast Machines. Did their thing, hit fast and hard, and left you wanting more, with satisfying build up and really explosive endings that were definitive. You knew that the mythos had some dangerous villains left and they could have dragged the shows out, but they ended at the top of their game. |

24 ended alright. In my opinion, they could have made another season or a movie to end it better, but overall the 8 season weren't bad. Smallville was pretty cool, except for Season 8. Season 8 sucked. Two and a Half Men should end now. It really should. Seinfeld's last season was decent, but ended very poorly, for a show of that quality. Friends ended pretty good too. I stopped watching How i Met Your Mother after last season. I have watched maybe 2 or 3 episodes of the latest season. ^ Same goes for Big Bang Theory. Only reason I would watch the show; Kaley Cuoco. |

The Office is having it's final season which I think it's very appropriate. Steve Carrell is gone and the show is just running out of material. |

The Office without Steve Carrell is like Scrubs without Zack Braff. In other words, what is the point? |

I though Scrubs actually turned pretty crap on the ninth season. They should have just ended it on the 8th (though a more satisfying conclusion would be nice). |

I'm glad they're making more of Arrested Development. Yeah, they might ruin it with more episodes, but maybe they're gonna make the new episodes as good as the old ones? And about Seinfeld, I think they just didn't know how else to get to an end. I don't think the last season was that bad. |

Went downhill.... Simpsons - Stopped being funny many years ago. Family Guy - It can still be funny at times, but not as consistently as it used to be. South Park - It's lately been suffering with the same problem as Family Guy, but not to the same degree. Some episodes can be hilarious, but lately there's been too much of it shifting from being very funny one episode to boring the next. Mock the Week - What can I say? When Frankie Boyle left, the heart of the show that made it the most hilarious thing on British television at the time was lost. Ended at the right time... Spartacus - While it could've shown more of the resistance's other battles than against Glabur and Crassus, it may have become dragged out. As much as I hate to say it, ending it where they did was a good decision. |

Sons of Anarchy should've ended with the third season. Clay stepping down and Jax leaving with Tara and his two kids would've been fine. It's just kind of meh now. Jackie Chan Adventures went downhill after the second season, maybe the third if you didn't mind those retarded animals. Digimon should've ended ended with the second season. It never should've gone beyond that and introduced a different cast. Burn Notice is heading downhill, but still enjoyable. Warehouse 13 should've ended with the third season. |

Sad to hear this but not all that surprised. I moved away before Frankie left so I didn't see it go downhill, but I agree that it was the most hilarious thing on TV in its prime. Went downhill: Scrubs - The 9th Season. Made worse by the fact that Season 8 was better than Season 7 and it had a perfect ending for a series finale. Damn you ABC, I love you for giving us the 8th Season and letting the show have a proper ending but I hate how you forced that abomination on us. How I Met Your Mother: Stop stalling, I don't care about Ted's new love because I know she isn't going to last. Just show the mother already and be done with it (haven't watched in a while though, doubt it's improved significantly). The Simpsons/Family Guy - Don't think I need to elaborate. Ended at the right time Futurama - Not ended by choice mind you. I know it keeps coming back but I don't really think it's dropped too much in quality even with the latest episodes. Heard it's been cancelled again, maybe they should just lay it to rest now. Dexter - I'm making big assumptions here that the last season will be good, but nevertheless ending it with the upcoming season is a good call, there's only so far they can push it and it's all wrapping up quite nicely. Extras - Two series and a special, perfectly done. The premise wasn't really suited to a long running thing and I'm glad Ricky Gervais knew that. On the fence: Friends - Bleh, I don't know. It wasn't as funny later on for sure, but I still enjoyed all the seasons and it wrapped up quite well. I think a sitcom with an ensemble cast as large as Friends probably needed a long running series to do the characters right but ten might have been pushing it. I can't really call it either way. |
We'll never be those kids again

Anybody watch Fringe and/or Chuck? They've both heavily declined it's quite depressing. It's more sad with Fringe though because for the first few seasons it was really awesome and now it's just pretty nonsensical. I don't watch it because I don't understand how it's still on, NCIS. They're just so terrible. Almost none of it makes sense it's chock full of scientific impossibilities and tries so hard to be smart but just isn't at all. It's got better in the past few episodes but The Mentalist has kind of declined for like 90% of each season it's all just pointless crime solving. Just f***ing get to Red John already nobody who watches it doesn't want to see stuff involving him -_- It shouldn't be a 10 million season series it has a fairly linear plot. Misfits(UK) not sure if it's completely done but it got really really crap once the main cast all died or left, Rudy is the only thing that keeps it going for me. (desperately tries to think of one that ended good so as to not be a 100% negative bastard) (failed) |

Doctor Who. The past two series were pretty unwatchable and whilst the current series started off okay, it's reverted back to how it was last series. It should have ended with David Tennant. It's not entirely Matt Smith's fault but his child like character doesn't help. |
