Goten and Trunks Ssj level?

Ok here it is in the android saga and Cell saga we saw this Ssj forms: Normal Ssj-Goku against Frieza,Vegeta against 19 Ascented Ssj-Vegeta against semi perfect Cell and Perfect Cell Ultra Ssj-Teunks against Perfect Cell,and Goku in the time chamber Full Power Ssj-It was showed bu Goku and Gohan post Rosat fighting Vell and remained ssjs all the time,so which level are the boys pre and post rosat?do you know?

I put both around Super Vegeta or Ultra Trunks before ROSAT, and around MSSj Goku and Gohan (Cell Games) after. Neither of them seem strong enough to pull off SSj2 even after they come out, and I don't believe that Goku was that far away from being able to when we see him during the Cell Games. Gohan is seen to be able to after his initial "rage" transformation, and I really don't believe that Goku was really that far behind him in power. Even something as small as a 15% difference between people can make it look like one is significantly stronger than the other, and I believe the same concept works with transformations as well. I can see that working. They were able to just keep up with Android 18, and then during the later Arc, their fusion was enough to stalemate Super Buu, so that works. Two cheers and Beers for Abyss. Apparently Vegeta and Goku just did brutal training to get to the Ascended Saiyan level versus Gohan who just transformed with his Super Saiyan's rage. My guess is they did the same thing that Goku did, though how I don't know.

And it doesn't make sense why they'd only use higher SSj levels with Gotenks, and not individually if the only requirement is indeed learning or emotional distress. This suggests to me that neither of them were strong enough separately to transform on their own, even though they knew it existed. So if they are truly almost as strong as the adults in the Boo Arc, it wouldn't make sense for them not to be able to transform on their own if they knew how to do it as Gotenks. Also Goten was a SSj without remembering how he'd done it initially. Him training to that point is not likely considering that the only formal training that he had was with Chi Chi. He plays with Trunks, but they didn't formally train. I also can't ever see him being legitimately upset about something considering he'd never been in any real fights or seen anyone die a horrible death.
