What is your all time favourite Sci-Fi show/movies? I'll add a poll. Sorry if I miss any.

Mine is easily Stargate.

I went with Doctor Who, I've sorta moved off that series now but it was quite a big part of my childhood, and even teenage years.

There's only like one movie in there. You could have kept it as just TV shows. :p

But yeah, Star Wars is obviously the best. If we're going with TV shows, I have no idea since I generally think that Sci-Fi shows suck.

Haha yeah I was originally going to keep it at shows. But I wanted to include Star Wars.

Whilst I really liked Battlestar Gallactica's reboot, it wasn't re-watchable in my opinion and therefore not a classic.

The second season of the V reboot was just awful.

I found X-files mostly uninteresting.

I've only seen the first episode of Stargate unfortunately. I thought it was great but missed the second one and so never bothered to catch up with it.

Star Wars is fantastic. What an amazing and deep universe, probably on par with the richness of the Lord of the Rings stories in terms of depth.

Doctor Who is alright but kind of meh. It's pretty much always been like that in my opinion.

Now I think whilst Star Trek may not have quite as deep a universe as Star Wars, I think the fact that it's been going strong for so many years is a testament to how good it is. With its Iconic characters like Kirk, Janeway, Picard and Sisco, nobody is going to forget it in a hurry. Plus it has some real classic episodes. Some of which were ahead of their time in terms of ideas and themes. Plus the holodeck episodes in The next Generation were some of my favourites.

And freaking Patrick Stewart man, he's a legend.

I'm part way through Star Trek TNG S2. And I find myself losing interest a lot of the time. I'm hoping it improves.

Oh yeah it definately does. I thought the first two seasons were really slow and boring too but it definitely gets better. Picks up a lot faster than DS9 did anyway. Does anyone else think that Enterprise was really underrated? That show was cool. Especially the last two seasons.

2001: A Space Odyssey
Blade Runner

^^How aren't these on the list? lol^^

Looper
Metropolis
Inception
Back to the Future
A Clockwork Orange

Too many others

I saw Oblivion. Best release I've seen so far this year. Lotta elements of other sci-fi's in it, but still a really great movie.

@Pelador - DS9 is known for really great space battles isn't it? That's the sort of stuff I love to see. And I haven't heard anything about Enterprise. Voyager on the other hand. Nothing but bad things.

@Noir - Lol yeah I really didn't want to include movies. I should have just called Star Wars a show.

DS9 only has space battles from season 5 onwards I think. It's still a good show but it's pretty much restricted to the space station until then.

Enterprise was interesting in that because it was set centuries before Kirk, they had much more basic technology. It was cool to see how certain things came about too. Like at first they don't have transporters so they have to shuttle everywhere. No phasers either. But the special effects were really good and there was a ton more space battles and fighting than DS9. It's probably my favourite Star Trek. And yeah, Voyager is bad. It would have been ok but it had really bland characters played by actors who could barely act. A lot of the aliens looked very similar to each other, wore the same clothes, lived the same way ect. It was lazy and not for me.

Very tough choices! I ended up choosing The X Files just because I grew up watching it, and enjoy the duo of Mulder and Scully.

I've always been a fan of both Star Trek TNG and DS9. However, for movies, Star Wars definitely.

The Predator movie as my best because of how freaking cool predator looks and that scene where he blows himself up was crazy. I like the old Star Trek especially Wrath of Khan. I used to be a hardcore star wars fan but now that freaking disney owns the franchise I lost interest.
