Maybe a power scaling system, you know with individual stats and levels and such would be the balance that you need. As badass as it would be to see Vegetto flick Frieza and kill him in a single blow, it would be infinitely frustrating from a gameplay perspective to have every single ultimate attack that you need to get an edge back in your game literally bounce of the guy that's been trouncing you just by pressing "A" twice while you've been working with absurdly complex combos. Especially with such a wide range of characters spanning from Dragon Ball through Dragon Ball GT.

Here's a thought...

Have different settings for battles, like, Competitive, Uphill, Accurate.

Where you can still have your curb stomps, but if you wanted you could even things to where it's a real fight, or make your opponent a little stronger, but not too strong so you can still win.

That I think could work. The armor seems to work like that in computer controlled story modes, no reason that those same settings can't be added to normal gameplay.

Yeah, and Training in Hero Mode, if you're training with someone who's a little stronger, then I would have it more like uphill. And yes, I would have the gains in hero mode the exact same as it would actually be in DBZ/GT.

Also, you can choose to have your Trainers strength gains to be only in Hero Mode or if you wanted, their gains can be crossed over into the main timeline story, so it's not as repetitive as doing the same thing over and over, it changes things a little, making the story it's self more interesting.

So, if you wanted you could have a Manga SS3 Kakarrot end up being what Toei wanted when fighting Chibi Boo, but this time it would make sense, and the played gets the choice to do it or not.

Yeah, it adds a lot to things and makes it complicated, but sometimes complicated can be good.

Ooooh, that's another factor. Manga Based or Anime Based.
I'd say by all logic it makes more sense to base it on the anime, since the expanded universe has more content and would generate a lot more gameplay than the linear nature of the Series.

Yeah, but I think as for the Boo arc it wouldn't be wise to initially go for what Toei wanted Kakarrot's power to be at the end of the arc. Because it doesn't make sense and with this being a game, things have to make more sense and be more consistent.

But I think at some point you could have that jump in power if you did the whole hero mode main story mode cross over thing.

So what engine would this game use?
Saiyan Overdrive ala Budokai 3/Shin Budokai
Sparking System like Budokai Tenkaichi and the Raging Blast Games?
Or maybe something else? Like the Origins Engine used in Ultimate Budoten?

I like the Sparking System but you would have to tweak it to fix some of the broken defense systems.

It could also work with a Budokai 3 esque game engine with better graphics.

I just find that the accurate powers and gaps would work better with the sparking system, like how would you work out a tanking mechanism with the Saiyan Overdrive system?

I'm not sure really...because in some way I like the added detail of Ultimate Tenkaichi, but I liked the freedom in battle of Raging Blast 2 and liked the destructible environments it had too. But I liked the flying around from Ultimate Tenkaichi, but I liked how you could land on the ground and run around in Sagas.

What about you?

I did dig the free roam sort of thing in Sagas, and think it would be very appropriate for the story mode. The Duels would probably still have to be the Sparking version of the game engine for attack tanks.
I kinda liked the way the movement worked in Ultimate Tenkaichi, since it kept the fight going, but I hated everything else about that engine.
Also I think I did like the Sparking System because it worked well with the Wii Remote. Now I know, I know, the pros use the GC and Classic Controllers for tighter controls, but I can hold my own with a Wii Remote and Chuck. And I just LOVE being able to put my hands together, say Kamehameha, and Gohan does it on screen. It just has to happen.

The only two games I liked with the motion was "The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess and Zelda Skyward Sword", other than that the motion didn't work for me.

I'm more of an old school gamer with controllers.

Classic control would be an option of course.
And I think the motion controls should get some type of bonus due to the inherit challenge that they present. Encourages players to mix it up a bit you know?

True.

No matter how silly it would look, every Costume that's from the main and secondary storylines should be available in Hero Mode, but have the ability to unlock them of course.
