Though there's something about Trunks transformation when he shows up to b*tch slap Frieza. I dunno, but there's something about his presence, it just makes him that badass. The guy makes a good first impression.

I love how he kept going back in forth from SSJ to Base before transforming. The music was awesome. Gohan: "Look who just joined the Super Saiyan club. He is on our side, isn't he?" "Now tell me because I'm curious: Are you androids capable of feeling fear?" -Vegeta to Android 19 before transforming. For me nothing matches the excitement of when I first saw that as a kid. By now I've seen it so many times that the excitement has worn off a bit but I still remember how epic it was like the first 50 times I saw it. I remember being wondering if Goku would be able to change back to normal and then eventually seeing the episode preview for Pathos On Frieza where it showed him back in his base form again. Good times

In the anime it's particularly epic, but even in the manga it hits me everytime. I think part of what's so striking about it, for me at least, is the intense effect it had in his behavior/nature or whatever. I know Vegeta said that turning SSJ can get Saiyans a little more violent prone and all, but it was never as prominent as in Gohan's first SSJ2 transformation.

When Gohan got all mad at Spopovitch beating the crap out of Videl. But clearly that wasn't about Kibito, it was more the left over anger and adrenaline of the previous transformation.
