I believe they are almost meaningless. Discuss.

Depends. For example Mr Satan's survival feats mean jacks***, but when a character expects to kill another character and they survive it's pretty meaningful (Cell thinking he killed Gohan).

Zarbon thinking he killed Vegeta, he lived, got healed and ended up killing Zarbon.

He knows how to survive.

Agreed Clearin, but I just don't like seeing people use them to gauge power level. Like, "this guy survived a punch, so he must be strong".

Durability factors into combat, that's a hands down thing. And usually your destructive force limit is equivlent to how much destructive force you can take. Hence Newton's Laws of Motion. EG, Goku dropping a Kamehameha and not getting moved by it means he can put out as much energy as he can resist, but no more than that. Usually...
But there are other factors like movement and reaction speeds, physical strength, energy reserves and output, intelligence (Fighting or otherwise) and technique. But just because someone can take a punch, it doesn't mean they can respond in kind. Food for thought.

I don't see how that fits into Power Levels. If anything, it speaks about their character and how smart and crafty they are.

Yes I agree with you. But on some occasions I see people trying to say surviving a powerful attack says something about their power level, which I disagree with. I think it just shows they have good durability.

I think it only says about their power is if they're within toying range, and they tank it.
