How do you feel about fusion?

Release the power within you.

Personally I didn't like it, sure it was cool to see what the characters looked like fused and all, but it was sorta a cheap way to get stronger really fast without having to do anything.

I see your point.. but that wouldn't really make a difference. There are way more characters that have gotten alot stronger in a cheap way too. Like Gohan,Buu,Cell and Frieza. I however thought the idea of two persons joining forces in one body was pretty cool.

All that I am: anger, cruelty, vengeance, I bestow upon you, my chosen knight. I have granted you immortality so that you may herald in a new, dark age for the Scourge.

Super Saiyan among Super Saiyans

It allows for more characters and more fights, but after seeing the sheer awesomeness of Super Saiya-jin 2 at the Cell games with lightning flashing everywhere, I really wanted to see SSJ2's power expanded upon like they did with SSJ from Android -Cell saga.

They gave us SSJ3 and Fusion instead. Honestly, I think only one of the two were necessary and that SSJ2 had a shorter-than-deserved run
We Super Saiyans are in a league of our own.

Fusion was something unique, especially Potara fusion.

Sure, it was so haxed but its understandable frm Toriyama's point of view.

U have a galactic tyrant that met his ends at the hands of the very race he banished. Super Saiyan as the strongest being in existence.

Next, bio-tech weapons came forth with no force on Earth capable to resist, EXCEPT SS2 Gohan.

Finally, keeping in mind with the tale and the scope of the show, while drastically increasing stakes, power levels rose to the point fusion and such were necessary.

I was cool with it for the most part, but I don't like the permanent factor in the Potara Union, I don't want any two characters to stay fused forever.

I thought it was a really cool addition.
I wished that they showed more characters using it to make them more relevant.
Tien and Yamcha would have been perfect.

I think it fit Gotenks. Goten was a mini Goku and we saw him return in the Buu saga, while we had already seen Future Trunks fight as well as his own character story. Those two would've just been compared to the grown up counterparts so Gotenks was born and he was totally unique

I actually would have liked that a lot to be honest, seeing the humans kick some a*** in the buu saga would have made me very happy :p

I guess I just prefered it when they were actually having to work for their strength like in the cell saga, it just made it more awesome imo.

I agree completely with this.
I think Gogeta was a much weaker character. We didn't need Gogeta and Vegeto.
However it was cool seeing the results of the fusion.

I think it would've been neat from a story perspective, because you could write about the long term effects of everyone around the two not able separate and how everyone copes with it.
