Most disappointing moments of Buu Saga.

I felt Fat Buu was sorely underused post-Majin Vegeta's sacrifice. Such formidable foe whom devastated Gohan, Dabra, Supreme Kai, Majin Vegeta was turned into such bland character. Opinions?

Don't get me wrong, having him visit was cool, but at this point Gohan was firmly put in charge of the Z Fighters. Step away from the plot Goku, it doesn't belong to you.

Nothin Favourite Manga Nothin	I thought Goku stayed away frm the plot most of the time. Both him & Vegeta took a backseat for about 20 episodes and the show sucked to be honest.

Most disappointing moments were whenever Gotenks showed up.

That's easy, it was when after the awesome, potential character, Gohan after training with the Z sword, struggling and then he sits for 24 hours to achieve the ultimate form, becoming stronger than ever, being awesome, the new,ultimate Gohan everyone was wondering and then he goes and surpasses everyone, beating the living thing outa Super Buu, then suddenly the fans whines about Goku wanting to be the hero, so they made Buu much stronger and beats Gohan into a pulp, making him die by a stupid kid Buu and then making him never seen in action in that saga ever again and therefore making Goku the ultimate hero as usual. For example, Piccolo and Kuririn are no longer factors at all really in the story anymore. It's sad that the narrative got so drawn down that so many characters were stripped of any usefulness whatsoever. Gray Boo eating Fat Boo was a bit of a downer for me as well. It seemed a bit forced in order to make a more intimidating villain and really confused the whole Boo storyline. And definitely how useless Gohan was, then only useful at all during the Boo saga otherwise when he fought Super Boo. And for what? A few chapters? Otherwise, he was out of shape, nearly dead and training on the Kai planet or having an old guy dance around him for days. Yeah... Gohan definitely got a lot less cool. Most disappointing moments were whenever Gotenks showed up. Nothin bad really. Fat Buu's childish innocence does sets him well apart frm the show's previous badasses as Frieza & Cell. The change was nice. Its just that his character simply never went anywhere: all he did was destroy (in the lamest way possible) and turn guys into cookies. Fat Buu certainly could've done better than just that.

Thanks Gohan is easily one of the greatest disserviced character of the Boo saga. I don't know if it was intentional or just played out that way, but, considering Toriyama's emphasis on him for the rest of Z, it just seemed really strange and out of place. Since obviously he couldn't keep up strength-wise, I had no problem with him taking a more passive wise mentor role. But instead it was all Piccolo being a butt of Gotenks' jokes, him trying to control Gotenks with Gotenks essentially walking all over him, and basically just being the "straight man" for the supposedly comedy gold that was Gotenks. Very disappointing. And yeah, Gohan's fight with Super Buu lasted two manga chapters at most, and then he was MIA for the final showdown against Buu. Also disappointing.

The Boo-volleyball scene is the worst and most diminishing of Piccolo in my opinion.

Chrome, Safari, IE Favourite Manga Rave Master, FLCL, .hack//legendofthetwilight, Naruto II	Oh I know I'm gonna get some hate for this one... Goten and Trunks getting their own episodes. I hated those episodes. Trunks is a let down, compared to his Future Badass Counter-Part. And Goten. Ugh, he was bland and boring even for a Goku replacement. And Goku is about as flat a character as you can get even in Shounen Anime. Why couldn't they use that second wish on the Dragon Balls to wish for a personality for Goten. I mean really, worst DBZ character ever. He's probably one of the few characters that gets radically better in GT, if only on the merit that he's trying to be a real 21 year old. Ironically I find Gotenks much more interesting. Granted he annoys the ever loving fck out of me, because he's cocky and childish. But it's because he's A TEN YEAR OLD WITH SUPER POWERS! If anything he's the best written character in the arc because he's portrayed so realistically. He's got a goofy, yet creative fighting style is different and makes him incredibly unique. And I really think if you gave a 3rd grader those types of super powers he'd totally run with it like that. That makes sense! Kid Gohan was a more bearable character yes, but what five year old reacts that way to 1. His Dad Dying, 2. Being Kidnapped by two aliens in a row, 3. Watching guys that are fundamentally his Uncles getting slaughtered by aliens right before his eyes, 4. Flying off into space and have his arse repeatedly kicked. 5. Never seeing his father! I'm surprised when he did finally lose it during the Cell fight that he didn't just blow up the solar system himself anyway. I don't think I could put up with that sit for the vast majority of my childhood. So yeah. Hate what Gotenks is made of, love the result. I'm The ACE, I over analyze it so you don't have to. Gohan seemingly lost every credibility as soon as he took over his alter-ego as Great Saiyaman. Other than being comic-relief as High School student, perhaps just as what Toriyama said "he was ultimately unsuitable for the lead character". After all, Gohan simply got his energy stole, puts up a decent fight with Dabra, got beaten by Fat Buu, again bot beaten in the process by another form of Buu & finally absorbed. Sigh... Toriyama could've worked out the narration better.
