closer game today for the bluejays, but the defence was VERY sloppy, Brett Lawrie i can understand because he is only playing his 3rd or 4th game but I dont think Jays will end up last. what I will say is that the A.L East is an amazing division and any team could make it in the post season in my eyes. (maybe not the rays)

Mark consistently bats .250, and that's good enough for me.
That would be solid if he wasn't making 20 mil a year.
Except this is the Yankees. Arod is the problem, and don't ever forget it

Well even the Yankees have been hesitant to throw large amounts of money around like they did the year that they signed Texeira, Sabathia, Phil Coke, Hughes, you know, those "big guys". At least this is what my friends have said, they are big baseball guys and I just pick up on what they say really.

Arod's deal was one hundred times worse than any, ever sicne the 09 season, heck even the 09 season he didn't play a full season, he hasn't played a full season, seems to always be hurt for at least half the season and last season didnt really do much, and only one year he performed in the post season.

Tex's average isn't that great for his salary but he at least produces in RBI's which is one of the most important things and as I recall his OBP is pretty good too, and that is also important because you want people on base weather it's a hit or walk.

Phil Coke was never considered a big guy never got a lot of money. Phil Hughes isn't making anywhere close to an insane amount, and last year he had an overall pretty good season, with an ERA around 4.07 and that's with him being the pitcher that allowed the most HR's. I'll take that anytime for a number 4 or 5 starter.

C.C.'s deal has been good so far, he's had good seasons every year.

Yes the Yankees are hesitant to give out big deals now but that's because they've been burned with A-Rod and the likes of Carl Pavano. Tex a bit overpaid yes but at least RBI and OBP is there.

Plus everyone seems to see the negative side of the Yankees, yet they have helped out quite a few players out already, they helped bring recognition to Nick Swisher who seemed to get better when he came to the Yankees. Seems like they are doing the same with Vernon Wells.

I will always remain confident in the Yankees making the playoffs. I can't guarantee they will make it, but I am confident they will, if that makes sense. I do not agree with ruling out Blue Jays already, I don't rule anyone out at the beginning of the season, can't rule out the Rays either, they have surprised quite a lot.

The Red Sox could be in a very hot streak right now, but at any point they can enter a slump, same with any team really. Things become more clear as we get closer to the all star break.

The Indians had 19 runs yesterday! That's a great way to bounce back after getting swept.
