Reminds me of the whole Goku reaching Frieza instantly but Mystic Gohan taking much longer to fly to Super Buu problem.
"The future of Gohan. The Future of Chi Chi. Not to mention the future of the entire universe. It all depends on me!!!! And I don't care if you're a million times stronger than me! I'm not going to let them down! So get ready Frieza because this time you're going Down!!!"

frieza was probably within a kilometer of the ship. if goku is capable of flying, say, 2,000 kph, then it would take him about 20 seconds to get to frieza from the ship, assuming frieza was 1 kilometer away. gohan was just further away then that.

How about Piccolo making it to the battle field in Namek so quickly. Of cource we probably don't know the distance here either.

gotenks did circle the earth 5 times, but it's more likely that it took him the full 3 minutes that you can hold your breath than the 6 seconds or so the anime showed. gotenks was in space where there is no wind resistance, though, so it makes sense that he would have the fastest travel speed, since he's the only one who actually flew through space.

Gotenks couldn't have been in space because he can't breathe in space. And if you want to suggest he held his breath, that would only mean he flew faster so he didn't suffocate. What we're given is a clear indication that he Circled the Earth 5 times without stopping.

I also don't believe you can completely account real world physics into Dragon Ball. Anime physics don't correlate with the real world.

The Prince of All Saiyans/Debaters.

Yes, Gotenks can't hold his breath in space due to the fact he is half human which declines some of his super-natural abilities.

Also, in Anime, they have to show full conversations and due to that flying speed does decreases, in Manga, you are currently reading 1 picture at a time, so it will make sense in Manga not in Anime.

yeah, he held his breath. i said that in my post, that it likely took him the full 3 minutes that you can hold your breath, because otherwise why stop at 5 circles?

as to physics, no the physics aren't exactly the same, but wind resistance is pretty obvious, and was actually accounted for in the series with ussj, so we know AT did take that into account. some basic real world principles can be applied to the series, because the series was written by someone who lives in this world and understands things like "the faster you go, the harder it is to go faster".

or explain why buu took a couple of minutes to get to goku and vegeta, based on the length of their conversation, but gotenks circled the earth, in space, 5 times without once coming down on any visible part of the route.

also, he defnitely was in space. the distance between gotenks and the earth was roughly equivalent to the diameter of the earth itself. 8,000 miles up is most certainly in space.

@gotenks being a hybrid. this really doesn't matter. the only immediately dangerous thing about being in space is the vacuum. vacuum exerts pressure on the body as the liquids within try to expand, causing those liquids to boil. however, ki protects against pressure. if it can protect against the pressure of a bullet or a planet busting beam, then it can protect against the vacuum of space which is much more tame than either of those.

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!"

The series in general is completely inconsistent.

Krillin and Roshi's movements during their comedy fight couldn't be seen by the audience during the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai, but Goku and Cell could be seen zipping around the ring by Mr. Satan, the reporter and the camera operator at the Cell Games.

actually no, they couldn't. there was a whole thing about how no one could see them fight, and Mr. satan pointed at some rubble and said they were over there. however, krillin vs. roshi was an intentional gag. they didn't really do all the stuff they said. they were messing with the announcer.
