When was ki sense first introduced in the manga?

I'm a little fussy on this... Is it Goku who first uses it, when he gets the UDW?

I remember Kame-sennin using ki sense in the Cell arc, when Piccolo was fighting the androids and then Cell on the island, but I can't remember him using it before.

I know it was used when Goku was training with Popo on Kami's lookout during early Dragon Ball. When or if it was specified before then I don't know.

Was it from the Super Holy Water (or whatever the hell it's called)? I don't quite remember either.

The first instance of it being used was after Goku consumed the Choshinsui, and stated that he could feel Piccolo Daimao's battle power.

Chapter: 152, P9.4
Goku: “I feel an absolutely incredible demonic ki [youki]…Piccolo Daimao is over there…”

It was definitely before, I remember this. The only reason I asked is because Kame-sennin uses it in the Cell arc, and I can't remember him using it earlier (Before Saiyan arc). It doesn't make sense that Goku taught him it, so the only real solution I can come up with is that he already knew how to use it, but didn't because he didn't have to.

I agree. There are several instances earlier of "presence sensing", but I'm not sure if it's related to ki sensing or not.
Goku senses something familiar about Grandpa Gohan when he's fighting him at Baba's Palace. Even non-fighting characters can feel presences too. Bulma senses something wrong when Vegeta commits suicide against Boo. She knew that the shock wave that passed had to do with Vegeta.

the first instance of "sensing" anything was bodb goku sensing the people hiding in oolong's village. the first confirmed "ki" sensing was, iirc, after goku drank the water. however, by the 23rd budokai, tien is also capable of sensing ki, because he specifically states he can't sense goku.
list of canon sources:

the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga.

list of non canon sources:

everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality.

for those that blindly follow word of god

I'm reading the 22nd Budokai right now, and Roshi apparently knew that Goku hadn't been killed by the Kikoho because he could 'feel his presence'.

This is true, but I think this is another example of a connection, and not related to ki.

As before-mentioned, Bulma sensed the shockwave they encountered in Boo arc had something to do with Vegeta, and I think that this is the same as when Roshi "feels Goku's presence".

The Prince of All Saiyans/Debaters.

The first ki sense was done by Goku at the way start when he was taking the turtle to kami-sama's Island when he encounters a huge guy with a sword and he said, 'Give me the turtle and you live.' But that 's where Goku said 'He's strong, but I am stronger.'

That's an estimation.
