One of my friends had the same reaction. Although I don't think it was funny enough to stand alone as a comedy, I liked that it had lots of nods at 'super hero' films and was actually successful as a super hero film in it's own right. Each to their own of course

Well, I don't think it was meant to be taken as a straight comedy. It was supposed be a realistic take on superheroes, which it did pretty darn well imo.

Action comedies aren't meant to be funny, usually. The movie had a quirk about it, which I felt worked well. The action in the movie was great, probably the better I've seen the last 10 years. Reminded me a bit of Scott Pilgrim vs The World, tbh. Like the setting for the new movie. Hyped!

So when I'm outside and people ask me who I'm supposed to be I can tell them, "I'm the mother f***er." On another note I found the first movie to be pretty funny, and this one seems funny as well especially with Jim Carrey coming in.

Many might not agree with me, but I proffered this one to the first. Not only did it have more action(at least it felt like it) but I also felt like it was funnier, and had some drama in it too. Overall I liked it better than the first, and I liked the first one a lot. IMO it's worth the watch, a lot more deaths thought. There is something after the credits too.
