Is anyone on the fence for getting this? I've got it and just thought I'd mention, get it. It's a ridiculously money worth service, recently added Mass Effect 3 in the Instant Games Collection. Which means it's completely free... On the store it usually costs £59.99, which is actually more than a years subscription to PSN+. There's also Dead Or Alive 5, for free again. Bioshock 2 was on it. Little Big Planet 2. Infamous 2. Mortal Kombat. And Sleeping Dogs was also on it. Some things get taken off after a while, but you get mostly good games completely free and if they're taken off you still get to keep them anyway. Had it since Christmas and I've had close to or more than £300 worth of games totally free. Membership cost me £34, until next Christmas who knows how many more games will have been on it by then. Win. Seriously though if you've thought about it ^ Well worth it. |

Sony has to abolish the free-to-play service. They're getting killed by Microsoft because of it. (Not the streaming games thing, I'm talking about their subscription thing)

I often considered getting PS Plus, since I play alot and who wouldn't want free stuff. The thing that's stopping me is that you can't play games that you got for free, when your subscription runs out. I know that when you buy something that's cheaper, you'll get to keep it, but when it's free, you can only use it when you have PS Plus. I don't know, that puts me under time pressure... I had PS Plus after the PS hack (where everyone had PS Plus) and I did like it...but I don't know if I should get it... I always look for games on sale and things like that...should I? (only say yes, if Sony doesn't pay you to say yes lol) |

I'd say it's worth getting, look how much money I've saved on it in just 2 and a half months, and that's not even including the PS Vita games. Sony aren't really losing anything over it they gain enough money from all their other companies and products to be able to do it, which is why they do. Microsoft could do it but they're to stingy which is one of the many reasons Sony is greater than Microsoft. The PS3 wasn't enough for game developers so they went and designed a whole, much more powerful console to suit their needs. No word from Microsoft. Anyway, you might as well get PS+, sure you don't get to play games if your subscription ends, but they were free. You still get to keep ones you only got a discount on. And with discs, someone could break them or you could lose them or anything so in this day and age it's better to have it on a hardrive, just not the classics of course. PS+ costs way less than Xboxlive for a whole year and you get so much more money out of it so it's a steal really. |

Which doesn't really mean anything towards the service Microsoft provide, they just want money whereas Sony sell PS3's for over double what they cost to make, for pure enjoyment. Same with PS+ it's incredibly cheap for all the money you get out of it, because it's for fun. Why should you have to pay more to pay games online? You've bought the game, you own the console and you pay for internet connection, all that is yours. But Microsoft feel the need to take more of your money for no kind of extra service, just to get more money. I'd stick with Sony's way of doing things any day. Microsoft should make enough money to do the same but they don't because it's not about the fans to them. |
