The comments of Piccolo in comparision to Piccolo Daimao were only ones of him being incomparable to Daimao, which was already made obvious through what unweighted Goku showed against Ten. Daimao being treated as relevant during the 23rd TB was just the same as Tsuru Sennin and Roshi treating Taopaipai as relevant during the 22nd TB, even though all 8 finalists were far above him (other than Pamput). Not only that, but Piccolo noting that world domination would be harder than he thought after facing Kuririn heavily implies that he wasn't expecting to face someone as strong as him, so Kuririn>post-Choshinsui Goku. The statements and feats for Kuririn/Yamcha's superiority to Daimao far outweigh those of vice-versa. After all, Goku bothering to tell the others of Piccolo>Piccolo Daimao before the finals dosen't really say much when he was already able to tell that a far more supressed Piccolo was already Daimao's superior. |
