Hello everyone. If you remember me I had a thread many months back looking for new animes. If you refer to the thread you can see which ones i've watched, http://dbzf.co.uk/topic/8336294/6/#new. Why are so many shows out there so short and just end? What are some that are good that are complete. For example, A: I loved Berserk but after like episode 26 it just drops you on your head. Big cliff hanger, no more episodes, unfinished. B: Dragon Ball tells the whole story and goes to conclusion. What good Anime's actually end like example B and don't just hurt to watch the last episode. You'd think more would, I mean American T.V. doesn't usually just drop like that. |

Inuyasha was probably the worst one to simply drop its audience off the cliff. I haven't seen "Final Act", but it's kinda stupid that it's taken so long for them to finish the series. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was a good, complete anime. Sixty Four eps, I believe. Samurai Champloo was a good one too, an only 26 episodes. |

You should definately read the manga. Not only is it still ongoing, but the art, story and graphic material are leagues above that of the anime. As for the question of why some anime series end abruptly, the reason is that often the manga has yet to be finished, and the anime producers may not want to add filler. Another example is Elfen Lied, in which the anime version leaves us on a cliffhanger with so much left unanswered that the manga explained and concluded. As for the most complete, DBGT would be one, as it fully stated that this is where the Dragon Ball story ends. Another good one is Hokuto no Ken 2, in which despite ending at an earlier point than the manga did, it still ends at an opportune moment (cutting out the remainder wasn't a big loss, considering all it did was wrap up the love triangle of Kenshiro, Lin and Bat, which could've been concluded earlier after Kaioh's death, which the anime chose to leave it with). Some more examples of premature anime endings that still fit fine would be the ending of the original Saint Seiya series (especially considering that the Hades Saga was eventually adapted into an anime). Kinnikuman Nisei also ended well, with some later aspects of the manga being used just to wrap things up nicely. Edited by Captain Cadaver, Feb 17 2013, 01:53 AM.
