The creator / host of the code will make changes now and then to update and fix it. We can't exactly stop that without hosting it ourselves which would just mean we miss out on any fixes and such.

You don't always get the newest thing just because it's there. You seem to be missing the point. We didn't get it. It was changed. Which means everyone who uses the code got updated. We don't know exactly why it was done All we know is that it was.

I was saying that if its possible there's no reason to not stop the update from happening, because the current update is sufficient for our needs. Except there are multiple reasons why we can't - for one it would reset everything all over again. Secondly it's copyrighted and cannot be modified or rehosted anywhere If that wasn't enough it means if we did have any problems with it, chances are it is beyond what we can fix as we aren't the ones who made it. We have had one reset in the entire time we've used it. I don't see why this one scenario would be a good reason to start looking for a different script or something which would then cause another reset again...

I just like the likes to be kept in place, in the same way posts always stay in place, since likes are often used as a replacement for posts.
