In the anime, Dabura is shown to be a, if anything capable fighter utilizing his magic and fists throughout his fights.

Manga Dabura, literally never throws a single punch or kick except arguably one time when he's charging Majin Buu and get's killed before he can even land a hit. Does Manga Dabura just suck at actual fighting. He's always shown using magic, spitting, magical fire, throwing weapons, but he's never once except for that one time shown to be able to actually clench his fist and push it foward.

Does Dabura just suck at direct combat and has to utilize his magic to actually hold his own against people near him?

The whole fight with Gohan and Dabura in Babidi's ship is filler o.o? All those ss or ss2 debates XD. Hmm, maybe he just didn't need it. His spit is a bit op.

I would say so. Magic seemed to be his main form of attack.

I think he sucks since most of his attacks was pretty much something to throw at Gohan.

And, what was the meditation station for? Does he need help to prepare to fight too? I use to think this guy was strong af.

All filler, that whole fight in babidi's ship...filler. That whole thing with the meditation...filler. That entire ordeal with Dabura going at Majin Buu, punching the crap out of him and trying to blast...filler.

The guy really does suck...

Then its:

Dabura anime > Dabura manga

Thats one of the reasons why Anime>Manga when it comes to fighting , no offense.

I dont think him or the supreme kai can actually fight. But that shouldnt mean they cant win a battle; They excel in magic and techniques which is still good; the supreme kai was able to hold ssj2 gohan and put a stop to buus blast(which nearly killed gohan). Thats serious skillz man.

Edit: Or maybe he can fight there is a part with him trying punch buu before being turned to chocolate..

When speaking of their capabilities, only Babidi was singled out for his magic.

Dabura is implicitly efficient in much more than that. He opted to fight Goku and co. all at once, which would've only given less opportunities to maneuver outside of close-ranged combat. The fact that he takes Gohan's initial attack head-on proves he is not averse to fighting at close quarters, but after feeling Gohan's power, he cleverly adapts his approach; to not play towards his opponent's strengths.

I actually quite like that^^

Maybe he's just more generalized in his technique: While most of the Z-fighters use martial arts and ki blasts etc, he also uses magic and swordplay.
