PlayStation 3 vs Xbox 360

PS3 is MARGINALLY better hardware wise, and its much harder to program for. The Cell proccessor was not all it was hyped up to be, and it's more prone to bricking. (360 doesn't brick.)

360 has dominated in sales and player bases. Look it up.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I think that's because microsoft has rights to game companies for things like Skyrim so they'll release it on xbox first since its their console, thats just Sony having not bought it because they get enough money from all their other products to not need the gaming industry.

If they decided to release a PS3 with a bit more RAM the Xbox could hardly compare.
Even the Vita has double the RAM of it lol.
PS3 isn't even finished yet they have more to add to it, hence there being no PS4 announcement.

Even not down to personal preference I dont see how the exclusives are better at all.

I got my 320 gig PS3 for £250, with two controllers also, hardly expensive for the value.

PSN Plus too got that for Christmas, since then I've got about £100 worth of games, completely free.
If you're talking about PS3 you can't not mention PSP's and Vita's, the latter is just a portable PS3 That can be used as a legit PS2 and PSX machine.

What else does Xbox get?

Costs the same as a PS3 everywhere I look and you get no extra features or anything to make it really worth it.
PS3 exlusives have way more potential to be good because a dual layer blu ray disc can hold something like 50 gig.

GOW and Halo just seem to have the same appeal as COD games but only for Xbox.

Only up by a little under 2 million and judging the last year's sales PS3 will surpass 360 this year. PS3 is outselling 360 by >100,000 globally every week.

As for software 360 is just barely ahead too. Of course it was released earlier so this is to be expected.

Sony went with the uphill slow climb approach and it actually payed off. Unlike MS with their fast producing unit initial 360 that was plagued by the RRoD, they incorporated hardware that would be fully utilized later on (like now) instead of at launch and bet on BluRay beating out HD which it did.

OP

I don't really care for either. Both make most of their money off 3rd party exclusives, amazingly so it's hard to judge. Of course Wii beats them all in sales by a huge margin, but this isn't about the Wii.

Ps3 is better for the budget. The cable for the ps3 is a normal usb cable that you can buy for cheap anywhere. There is no reason as to why you would need anything else. Everything you just aid pelador about the xbox and their controllers just adds to the $$$ of xbox. You have to buy this, that, this, and that. I don't need to buy any of that because the ps3 controllers were already wireless and rechargeable. I didn't have to buy ANY of that back in 2007 when the ps3 controller first came out!

Lets put it into perspective. Microsoft is an American company isn't it? America is a big country which is why I see those Xbox numbers being significantly higher than ps3 ones.

Ps3 did get hacked, but blame the people not Sony. There are games on both ps3 and xbox that get hacked. Why is that? Why do some games on Xbox get hacked. There should be absolutely no excuse for an xbox game getting hacked if you are paying for the service.

Ps3 is a superior console in my eyes, but I don't hate xbox. I feel like Xbox players are truly hardcore gamers. I dislike though xbox players making it seem like Sony Ps3 players are inferior.

Ok ok, i'll go more in depth of why I think the Xbox is the better gaming console. Keep in mind I have played both.

1. Xbox is meant for pure gaming. It's not meant to be used as a DVD player or browser. It has the features yes but, the main purpose is for gaming.

2. The online services are something you have to pay for but, I find it to be more dependable and in better quality then PSN. Xbox has never had any downtime since I've played it (roughly 4 years) and XBLA has some great games to offer.

3. The gaming franchises Xbox has to offer are great. Yes yes, I know you have God of War and some others but, take franchises like Halo for instance. It's been around since the original Xbox and has proven to be one of the best ever created. Fable is another great game to only have served as an Xbox only feature. And don't get me started on Gears of War.

4. The controller has batteries to them yes. They also have adaptions to where you can have rechargeable packs for people who don't want to spend money on the batteries. I use a wired controller and it's never once troubled me. Frankly, it's pretty damn sweet. The controller can either light up all red or light up when vibrated. Also, the feel of the Xbox is more natural and meant for shooting and most other game genres. You have actual triggers to pull. Not rectangles.

5. I've had the same Xbox for about 5 years now and it hasn't given me a single problem. The things been through hell too. And to be honest, I would much rather worry about something you could fix yourself then play the PS3.

In conclusion, I find the PS3 to be lacking. The ways I distinguish the two apart are that the PS3 is a DVD player that can play games and the Xbox is a gaming console that can play DVD's. I will always prefer being an Xbox user and I enjoy the games that only we can play. If you like the PS3, it's your opinion and I respect it. I just have always found the Xbox to be more suitable for my gaming needs.

Not like rechargeable batteries are gonna drain your budget anymore than a longer charger cable than the one that came with my PS3. Plus they last ages. Saying one is better than the other is sort of mistaking your opinion for a fact. There is nothing about either console that factually or technically makes it a superior machine.

I like ps3 better.

1.Free Online- Gives me extra spending money yearly to buy another game,

2. Bluetooth headset- Everyone with 360 that I know has to plug their mic into the control which seems strange to me.

3. Controller-Im kind of biased about this because I've owned every form of playstation and only one Xbox. But I do like the ps3 controller better.

4. Red ring of death- Not sure if the new 360s still get this, but I know a lot of friends who had to spend good money to get theirs fixed when they got the red ring. I've had my ps3 since 2007 and I've never had one problem with it.

5. blue Ray- Forgot to mention this, and I use it a lot for watching high quality film.

That is my opinion :)

I prefer my Xbox 360 over my friend's PlayStation 3. I have my own Blu-ray player, so I really don't need that feature.

I've had my Xbox for a few years now (the older white model, not the new black wifi one) and I haven't had any problems with it. It's starting to show wear (being louder), but other than that it's been fine. Never had a red ring of death or anything, and I've bumped it quite a bit and hardly ever clean it.

The online is great. I don't have any problems in that department either. It's never down and I'm not looking over my shoulder wondering when someone is going to hack the system and take my info (I don't think Sony will ever live that down, lol). I haven't played actual online for the PS3, but I hear it's not as user-friendly and it more geared toward one-on-one chatting whereas with Xbox, you can have huge parties and whatnot.

Something Pelador said caught my attention, too - the downloading of updates. It took what seemed like an hour for one update to download on my buddy's PS3, but updates on our Xboxes go by in like five minutes at most. I've seen my friend's PS3 also download Netflix and that took FOREVER. I downloaded it on my Xbox and it took a tenth of that time at best.

I'm also a Halo/Gears of War kind of guy, so I prefer the Xbox when it comes to actual gaming nonetheless.

The PS3 is a great system, but I'd rather have my Xbox. The Blu-ray player was the only reason I wanted a PS3 in the first place, to be honest, and now that I have my own I don't need a $300-400 system (if that's still how much it is).

Overall, the Xbox is expensive, yeah. I can't speak for the PS3 because I don't have one, but with the Xbox you have to pay $300 for the system, $60 for one year of LIVE, $60 for any new games, $3 for a pack of AA batteries, and $50 for an official Xbox controller if you want to play with someone else on your system since the box only comes with one controller. That's about $475 for me. I can't speak for others since prices vary location to location.

Honestly I think this varies with Internet speed. I used to have a slow router, and it would take 40 minute for a 2gb bf3 update. Now I have a high quality router, and it takes about 10-20 minutes for a 2gb update.

My friend has Roadrunner and I have AT&T DSL (the standard package).

One more thing. I dislike the PS3 controller. If I ever played it, I had to use the PS2 controller. But the Xbox 360 one is great. I feel most natural with that.

I do agree with you on download speed though. I've seen the same Xbox download go one minute faster on their system compared to mine.

I actually think Ps3 ~ 360

I hate when people argue about it. They both have good features and are great systems.

ill bring up and old post of mine but slightly edited

well ps has a nice sized controller , a little small- personal opinion though
while xbox has a bigger size but is also nice- personal opinion though

yes psn is free which is kickass

360 u have to pay for live which really sucks but the overall live gameplay is better on 360 much better
better conection and smoother gameplay and for xbox live its about 5 bucks a month or 60/year

the dlcs come sooner on 360 then psn, a few dont come out at all on psn actually i explain later on

if u have an old xbox first gen it will tend to crash more then the ps3
but regarding the newer ones there roughly the same

ps3 is more bang for your buck , games also go on sale fairly quickly and good price drops- personal opinion though

regarding dlcs not coming on ps3 is
that multiplatforms games that are on pc ,360 and ps3
pc and 360 follow the same game code
for ps3 they copy it and paste it and try to fix the errors
this often does not work so there are generally more problems on the games
as well as dlcs have errors or bugs
and some they dont even bother relaeasing cause of too many problem
refer to skyrim- big problem

yes ps3 has blueray but that slows the overall hardware system down
i still find that the ps3 is still better built, longer lasting
i could go more in depth and analyse it a lot more but ill leave it at that

ps3 is good for the casual gamer and watching blue ray
it can even be used as a hardcore gaming console but not to the extent of the xbox
xbox is for the most part for the more hardcore gamer, u can watch hd videos so its not the end of the world

both good consoles if ya ask me though

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Getting games sooner doesn't exactly make Xbox games better, they are the same games its just marketing.

Download speeds vary anyway.

I got the game Vanquish off PSN Plus for free and its 11 gig.

Took an hour to download, and my internet connection isn't that good at all not to mention my mums iPad, sisters laptop, my phone, my iPod and my sisters iPod were all hogging the bandwidth.

Updates can take ages but I guess that's just server speed, sometimes they take ages sometimes they don't.

Again thats probably down to Sony not owning whoever make the games so less resources are allocated to the PS3 version.
When it's a PS3 exclusive for me it doesn't seem to take long not to mention the exclusives are mechanically great.

Had MGS4 since it came out and not once has it crashed or glitched in any way and I've played it a LOT. Its also only had to have one update(a couple of months ago, not checked since)
Which wasn't bug fixes it was just to add trophies since the game was already flawless.

The social networking on it is fine, I don't get peoples problems with it you can have group chat while games are going on if you want, thats enough.
Its a gaming machine, not Facebook.

But as for non games all the applications work great too currently watching Battlestar Galactica, instantly loaded and hasn't stopped, with my crap connection.

So it isn't that Xbox has better connectivity its just that with some things they give it better connectivity and are lazy to give it to PS3.

As said the PS3 isn't finished whereas the 360 is done already.

They've only just stopped manufacturing PS2's in Japan, PlayStations are built to last.
