This isn't really a serious topic, I'm just stating here that something was really amiss in the back half of the android saga. So, let's head back to 1993, Mr.Toriyama has reached a very controversial point in the story arc, the cell games, in an attempt to make this arc less of a carbon copy of Freeza (okay, I won't be that harsh) . I think mr.Toriyama remembered somewhere along the lines that the title of his manga is "Dragonball" and probably realized his Cell character is no where near as ruthless as previous villans , soooooo..... to add some drama to the story, the army goes to fight Cell and almost everyone gets killed, distressed, Goku decides to instant transmission his way around the globe to collect the dragonballs that have been irrelevant to the story thus far. This was not enough however to get the message across, so why not let him kill off some main characters too? #16,Trunks and Goku all die in the attempts to beat Cell, adding more drama to the story and giving the Dragonballs a reason to be involved in the storyline again, even if it is at the end. Okay, Trunks and #16's deaths were relevant to both Vegeta and Gohan snapping, and Goku's to bring about the turning over of the mantle to Gohan, but what I realize is mr.Toriyama was effectively trying to bring the series back to its roots a bit and away from the dark storyline, just a little bit. In making this story arc fresh and exciting, he did have to loose track of what the series originally involved, which is okay, and he managed to hide the fact that he was trying to give the arc a conclusion that related back to what the series one was by using these three characters specifically. The Kamiccolo fusion is a perfect representation of the series' once mystical and adventurous nature being over taken by super powered up warriors saving the world, as the dragonballs essentially died due to this fusion and no longer existed in the story. Anyway,over-analyzation, tak about it if you want, BYE. |

I think after Frieza era the dragonballs were pretty irrelevant to the story , from Cell to Buu era. About Cell I disagree since Androids didn't kill any Z fighters , and Cell couldn't kill the fighters since he didn't had the chance or missed the chances. |
