SSJ Gotenks Pre vs Fat Buu

 Fat Buu's power is always the same, it doesn't increase like DBM Broly's.
Initially, Buu was suppressed, then he powered-up once and Gohan went away crying, then he had a second angry power-up against Majin Vegeta.
The one who stomped Majin Vegeta is the same who fought Ssj3 Goku, and is the same who would get killed by Gotenks.
Fat Buu's power has a limit, and when he reached this limit he split.
As you said, cockiness would be only Gotenks problem, but in raw power, Fat Buu would have zero chances to survive.

I guess it depends on how we watch both manga an anime I take most of the anime in to help back up some of the manga, like how they had Goku flew to Gohan and the others on Namek in the manga, and likewise in the anime.
In the manga, Goku and Gohan are all the way to the archway that comes before the door before Ten and the others notice their ki.
Yeah that's what I was talking about, it still doesn't make since for MSSJ powers to be felt before exiting and not SSJ3 Gotenks and Super Buu tier characters before leaving the ROSAT.
Before as in, before the door going in...meaning, if you're on the outside, it'll be before you get to the room.
