So, the first time I watched DBZ, I was incredibly confused about Fat Majin Boo and Super Boo. I mean, after all, isn't Fat Majin Boo:

Good Boo

and

Grey Boo

and Super Boo is:

Grey Boo

and

Good Boo

Well, to understand how Super Boo is somehow different from Fat Boo even though they are both made up out of Grey Boo and Good Boo, we need to find out where Fat Majin Boo came from in the first place.


This here:

Pure Boo

is Pure Boo. Or, alternatively, Kid Boo, but for most of this post, I will be calling it Pure Boo.

This is:

South Kaioshin

South Kaioshin. Or, alternatively, South Supreme Kai, but for this post, I will be calling him South Kaioshin

Now, after Pure Boo absorbs South Kaioshin, he becomes a form that I will refer to as 'Uber Boo'

Uber Boo next absorbs Dai Kaioshin

Dai Kaioshin

Also known as Daikaioh, or Grand Supreme Kai, but I will refer to him as Dai Kaioshin or Daikaioh if I feel too lazy to type the whole thing out.

Now, note the similiarities between Dai Kaioshin and Fat Boo/Good Boo. Go on. Scroll up. I'll wait.

So, it's pretty simple so far.

Uber Boo = Pure Boo + South Kaioshin
Fat Boo = Uber Boo + Dai Kaioshin
or
Fat Boo = Pure Boo + Dai Kaioshin + South Kaioshin

So, isn't it weird that Pure Boo is stronger than Fat Boo even though Fat Boo has the added power of Dai Kaioshin and South Kaioshin? Now, here is where the dominance/submissiveness part of my title comes in. In Fat Majin Boo, Dai Kaioshin was the dominant form. If you listened to me and scrolled up to see the similarity between Fat Boo and Dai Kaioshin, you can see why this makes sense.

The question is however, why is Dai Kaioshin the dominant absorption? The reason can be explained by Daikaioh's overwhelming innocence and good, which completely contradicted Pure Boos persona. When Uber Boo absorbed Daikaioh, he had the power deep within him of Pure Boo, Daikaioh, and South Kaioshin combined, but he couldn't use it to the fullest potential due to Daikaioh's overwhelmingly pure personality.

In the case of Uber Boo, South Kaioshin simply could not change Pure Boo's personality so much to the point he was the dominant form, as demonstated by the only change in Pure Boo's appearance after absorbing the Kai being larger muscles and increased power. He was still as evil and insane as ever. So, we would revise that to:

Uber Boo = Pure Boo + South Kaioshin (Pure Boo dominant)
Fat Boo = Pure Boo + Dai Kaioshin + South Kaioshin (Dai Kaioshin dominant)

So next, we have to see where Grey Boo came from, and where Good Boo came from.

This first thing that can be agreed on, I think, is that Daikaioh was dominant in Good Boo. Not too much explanation is needed. So, the other two characters that are not accounted for are South Kaioshin and Pure Boo.

There are three possible combinations:

The 'Boo Form' in parenthesis refers to the fact that Daikaioh and South Kaioshin were permanently infused into Boo over the millions of years.

So, first, let's just explain why Grey Boo would not look the same as Uber Boo for being Pure Boo+South Kaioshin, or not be the same as Pure Boo:

Fat Boo expelled the evil inside him in the form of a gray gas. The reason that Grey Boo could be Pure Boo in a different form could be that it was Daikaioh and South Kaioshin forcing Boo out of their bodies, therefore mutating Kid Boo in some form. This would be because Daikaioh and South Kaioshin were permanently infused into a part of Kid Boo's body, therefore taking a part out of his body.

If Grey Boo was hypothetically Pure Boo+South kaioshin, the reason he would not be the same as Uber Boo could be because Uber Boo was Pure Boo immediately after he absorbed South Kaioshin, meaning South Kaioshin's body was still intact and inside of Boo. However, Grey Boo was after South Kaioshin's body became permanently infused into Boo's over the millions of years.

So anyway, let's see which one makes the most sense. If we use possibility one, then that would mean Grey Boo was stronger than Kid Boo. However, we know that is ridiculous, so we can rule that out. If we use possibility two, then why would Grey Boo be evil in the first place if he was just South Kaioshin without any Pure Boo in him? So, we can rule that out.

And finally, possibility 3. This, odd as it is, means Grey Boo is on par with Pure Boo, but we'd have to go with it seeing as the other possibilities don't make sense.

OK, so we've so far:

So, what about Super Boo now? Well basically, after Grey Boo absorbs Daikaioh and South Kaioshin (Good Boo), Grey Boo, or Kid Boo is dominant. Why? It could be seen that Grey Boo's evil was far greater than Good Boo's good, as South Kaioshin could have 'diluted' Daikaioh's innocent personality. Or, alternatively, since he absorbed them while they were in chocolate form, their personality could not be absorbed and just their power was. Either way, Super Boo is basically Pure Boo+Daikaioh+South Kaioshin with Pure Boo as dominant. Where Grey Boo went can be explained by saying that Gray Boo actually disappeared in the fusion/rearrangement of Boo, because when Grey Boo and Good Boo merged, Pure Boo was created, with a different body and power due to absorptions.
