If he had not let them take Gohan's power, then Babadi could have remained hidden and stolen the power later, and could have unleashed Buu when Goku was safely back in other world. (I want to emphasis that. He did not just let them take the power. The only reason they did not stop Buu then and there was because of Vegeta. If he had not let Babadi control him, then they would have killed Dabura and destroyed Buu's ball. Supreme Kai's plan would have worked.) There would be no reason to tell the Z-Fighters of Buu's true form because it was pretty much Fat Buu's strength. Z Sword Training was meant for Gohan, because it all led to him becoming Mystic. Vegeta wouldn't have been half Gohan's strength. Supreme Kai is cool. Just because Toriyama had people's perceptions of him skewed doesn't hurt the character either. Let me explain why what you say is wrong. He had to find the whereabouts of the ship, but nowhere in there did he have to actually let them use the container. This is a guy with instantaneous movement. He had enough magic to blow up the ki bomb Gohan was on. All he had to do was find the ship and then concentrate on the energy drainer and shatter it so Buu couldn't have any energy to revive him. From there on they could have killed Dabura, Pui Pui, and Nanadi on the outside where Babadi couldn't feed them any energy and the Saiyans wouldn't have even treated it like a mini take your turn gauntlet in a brawl, neither would Piccolo or Krillin, so they would have slaughtered the, all mostly on the outside be uses Dabura, Buu would be sealed up and even if the battle woke him up he wouldn't have his energy. The only reason they didn't stop Babadi then and there was because of Sin and Gohan. Gohan kills Dabura and fits like he could when he was a kid, and they have Babadi ants down with no guard. Likewise if they just let Vegeta blow the damn ship up like he suggested, Buu gets released at half power at best which is easy enough for all three Saiyans to kill him at as a group. Supreme Kai had no damn plan. His only thing close to a plan was be a coward a gang up on every villain one by one. If he had a plan, he would have watched earth intently as well as Goku in other world to know their powers. He would know of a second level of ssj. He would know who Babadi has employed, their strengths and weaknesses, and he would have outlined them for the z fighters ranging from Daburas Spit to Buus absorption and candy beam. He failed to warn them if anything until the as hit had already happened to them thus the name KINDERGARTEN KAI! Old Kai was locked away in a sword for ages and he knew more about the Saiyans and rain balls than Shin, hell shin didn't even know what a dragon ball was. The Z sword training wasn't meant for Gohan, he hpdidnt even think of it to he watched Goku and Vegeta own guys that made him wet himself effortlessly and run down Gohan soft and lazy tittle and skill set despite fighting Dabura better than Shin and Kibito as a tandem ever could. If the Z sword training was meant for Gohan or the Saiyans he would have took those three to the planet then and pull out the sword, and yes Vegeta would have been the better choice. Google Chrome and Firefox	Supreme Kai sucked for the reason that he wasn't EPIC enough. If you are the SUPREME F'ING KAI you should be able to kick some ***. Lead by freakin example. I thought his character design was great and mysterious. It is another reason why I dislike the Buu Saga. Oh and just for the record if you remember this scene, I was chanting DO IT GOKU I FREAKIN DARE YOU! DOOOO IT! BLOW HIS FREAKIN HEAD OFF xD! In all honesty though, Supreme Kai should have knocked Goku's face off for threatening him like that. Put him in his damn place Kai serously. He is the SUPREME KAI. Damn... I think Toriyama-sensei himself is a bit to blame for Kaio's incompetence because he already had the whole Majin Boo Saga planned out when Kaioshin entered the fray. In other words, he basically destroyed the credibility of a character just to keep the action rolling. Poor writing on his part.

Obviously he could only blow up certain energies that were right in front of him for himself to concentrate on. Your only point that I agree with at all is that he failed to warn them of Majin' buu's powers, though he was obviously certain there'd be no Majin Buu. Z Sword Training was meant for the one who pulled it out and the one he chose, because PROPHECY. Which is why it was Gohan, to become Mystic. And he did have a plan, a plan much better than any of any Z Fighter or Saiyan ever... To fricken gang up on an opponent. They had defeated 3/4th's of Babadi's ship. All they had to do was kill Dabura and Babadi would be defeated, but no, Vegeta went Majin. Supreme Kai's plan was ABOUT to work, but bam, Vegeta had to be the failure he usually was. You can't deny this. Him being cool is a matter of opinion, though he tried to save the earth, and fought passionately with compassion. Makes him cool in my book. Google Chrome and Firefox	Supreme Kai is a cool character, but he could have been COOLER. They really downgraded him to push the saiyans forward. He should have been super epic because of his position. Here is some mysterious guy no one knows about, yet he is overwhelmed by Gohan's power.

It's Toriyama poking fun at how inflated his own powers have become so that even Base Vegeta can make Kaioshin look like a joke, when Kaioshin himself makes Freeza look pathetic.

Except in GT, you can find a plot inconsistency in virtually every episode.
