Why does Cell revert back to his Semi-Perfect form at all when his perfect power is later said to be saved in his cells so he doesn't need 18 any more? Going by that logic there should have been no reason for him to change back to Semi-Perfect to begin with. And also could Gohan have made Cell throw up 17 as well? And how was 18 not destroyed or at least maimed in all the times Cell got maimed and had to regenerate? Edited by 90sDBZ, Oct 23 2012, 09:31 PM.

I think when Cell regenerates, 18 regenerates with him, she basically becomes him. |

Yeah, in order to regain his perfect self that his cells had remembered, they would need an almost fresh start as a basis for something to regenerate to. Or at least that was what was implied to me. Maybe if he tried regenerating in his semi-perfect form he would have gone back to his perfect form, though I personally don't think so. The main difference IMO is that his regeneration was used by his 'core', rebuilding himself up into his perfect form. If he was able to from his semi-perfect form it would be defined as a transformation, instead of regenerating, as it would be completely changing his cellular structure. I don't think Cell knows how to transform. Regeneration's all he's got. |

His cells may have remembered the base code of 18's DNA but I don't think they had time to keep his form as is when she was ejected from his body. Him being nearly obliterated allowed for the DNA to reform him in his perfect form from the DNA they had remembered from 18. He had to be able to build himself up again. If Gohan was able to make Cell throw up 18 it stands to reason he could've gotten 17 out as well. And 18's condition would depend on how Cell stores their bodies. Is it like Buu, where he keeps them in pods in his head and therefore safe from any physical harm his actual body goes through? We don't really know, none of that was explained. |

So are we saying that the twins basically reforms when blown up too? That's a little odd. |

The twins? You mean 18 and 17? Inside of Cell when he regenerates? No, I said his cells remembered their DNA and reformed Cell when he got obliterated. Like how he states in the anime. |

Ok I understand that. I just don't understand how they are in full when they should have been blown to pieces on a couple occasions. |

Well, like I said, I don't think anyone really knows. It's never gone into how he stores 17 and 18's bodies |

Maybe he's similar to Buu storing wise. Maybe they had pods in his stomach area, or something, and when he was hit she was ejected by force.

His stomach was blown up too though, wasn't it? Two different times, I think. |

That's true. I did have in my mind they they may get smaller, and everything like everyone did inside Buu, but that still doesn't explain what happens to both Cell, and Buu when both of their stomachs have been blown up on more than one occasion. |

Why would they necessarily be stored in the stomach? |

Honestly I just straight up assumed stomach. I really can't think of anywhere else they'd go let alone set in. |

Something I've just thought about regarding Goku and Vegeta and the hyperbolic time chamber visits is. Before Vegeta and Trunks went in, the only time they were able to sense Cell was in his imperfect form, so they trained accordingly in order to outmatch that power. Goku on the other hand, got to see Cell in his second form when he saved Tien and Piccolo before going in, so he trained accordingly to surpass that power. If Goku and Gohan had gone in first, maybe they wouldn't have trained nearly as hard in order to surpass Imperfect Cell like Vegeta and Trunks did and maybe Vegeta would've exited stronger than Goku on his first visit. Goku also trained differently than Vegeta did though, their approach was completely different, Goku focusing on conservation of energy and gaining strength without losing speed while Vegeta was more focused on getting stronger without worrying about energy output or speed so maybe that had a bigger factor than what form they saw Cell in before going in.

@ Prof. Gohan - Does Cell even have a stomach though? Even if he did I would think they would be elsewhere. The stomachs primary function is to digest food. Unless the 'Buu effect' applies to Cell (where his absorption's slowly become a part of himself). I always thought it was slightly above the stomach area somewhere in the chest.
