Where does the purple come from and why does it stand up straight like Vegeta's rather than like Goten or Trunks? And why does he have a receding hairline like Vegeta when he's only 7 or 8?

First the hair and second his cockiness. Although im not sure about the purple hair. Maybe Toritama thought Black +Grey = Purple?

That's interesting. Would that mean that it could have been possible for Vegito to look more like King Vegeta?

I suppose it could have been possible, but he didnt have he beard and stache But im not really sure about Gotenks' look, although im pretty sure his personality mimics Vegetas.

Posts: 1,998 Group: Member Member #7,432 Joined: March 11, 2012	I always thought the purple is from Trunks and the black is from Goten and that it'd be weird for only the purple part of his hair to fall down to the sides like Trunks' hair while the black hair stands up straight like all saiyans do in super saiyan. I think Toriyama chose Vegeta's hair because it's an easier transition to keep from base to super saiyan and it looks similar to goten's super saiyan, while keeping a tint of purple from Trunks and the style of Vegeta.

But isn't Trunks' hair more white than purple? In GT it looks more purple but in Z it looks white to me. Maybe it is a pale shade of purple but the purple in Gotenks' hair is darker.

Some pictures make it very dark purple while others make it a bigger contrast from the black and give it a light violet resembling Trunks' hair. Like Light violet kinda The shadow gives it a purple shade Darker background gives a purple shade Though Idk if these pictures are the best quality >__< Edited by Pylons, Oct 12 2012, 12:00 PM.

Yeah now that i think about it, Trunks did have a very slight purple tinge in his hair. I guess it was really exaggerated in Gotenks.

Google Favourite Manga DragonBall	I kinda wish that Gotenks hair color was a mixture of purple and black. I'm not too fond with the idea of Gotenks having two different colors for his hair.
