^Yeah, it's pretty difficult to find renders of guys then put them in unison. That's why most people that are considered good at graphics usually only have one character than worry about the background. I kind of went with the opposite approach. |

Not bad at all. I didn't even know you make sigs! I find the border on this sig kinda cool. I might have to try a similar effect on my own sigs soon. The main problem with this sig is that there's not a great sense of unity and cohesion within the sig. The 3 images are just there, there's no form of interaction between them or some effects tying them together, you know? It still looks clean and appealing though. Good job. |

It's not always the case of just putting one render that makes good signatures. I've made signatures with more than one render. The trick is to make them seem as a part of each other. You have to find a way to make it flow with the 3 renders. The way they are positioned together can help make them into one focal point. Other then that, the style is cool. I have to agree that what Kris and havoc said are spot on. |

Yeah, I know what you mean. My main point was that people like me (or at my 2nd tier skill level) usually go with one render because it's simply easier and you don't have to worry about the flow of the images, just the contrast between the focal point and the background. I'm planning one escalating my knowledge and skills though. I could make an image like most people with one character with a great color splash but doing that over and over doesn't really make me better. For example one of my goals is to be able to create an image with another image in the background like a sketch (pretty much the exact thing you did with my current sig, but is above my skill set) so that's why I'm testing using multiple renders. To be honest one is pretty simple, but it gets interesting and fun once you break that with more (for me anyway). Edited by Cal, Oct 8 2012, 11:19 PM.

I understand that you are trying to expand your skills, but starting out small goes a long way. It is hard because you want to stand out from everyone else. However, to do that, you should learn the basics first like flow, color scheme, placement, rendering, etc. You have a good style and unique ideas that can be seen in your signature, but you need to develop the skills to execute them. It's all about skills. The program you use helps a lot too. What program are you using? The best way to get better is by following tutorials and advice. Tutorials can be found on youtube or on google. You'd be surprised what you can do when you search for it. Also, experiment with the program often. You find new tools that can help. I use all kinds. Sometimes basic paint, sometimes Gimp, sometimes mspaint.net, sometimes a basic web editor, etc, etc. Just depends on what I want to do. Like I said though most basic tutorials show you how to use a color splash effectively, placement and font of text and how to correspond to your theme, how to use focal blurs correctly, change the value of your hue, etc, etc. I can do most of that basic stuff decently. To be more exact with you I want to do this: I want to show a character going from one side of a sig to the other and using a technique on another guy. He has a teleportation jutsu where he throws a kunai and can teleport wherever it goes. So he would be first shown standing with the kunai, then shows the kuai having been thrown then shows him using the technique on the other guy and his mask busting. Of course I could use or make a .gif but that just takes the fun out of it. I want to do this but without anything actually moving: ![]() Using these: http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb377/JamesCCole/minato_render_by_itachi1998-d4pgdiy.png http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb377/JamesCCole/400px-Kunai_yondaimesvg.png http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb377/JamesCCole/Minato_render_by_nobe.png http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb377/JamesCCole/7778_render_Sans_titre_2.png Surely someone that is as good and has as much appreciation as you do for graphics can appreciate the difficulty of doing something like this. To make a non-moving image looks as though he's moving across it and attacking is pretty difficult (if you want it to look good). That doesn't even mention all the effects that I will have to do like cracking the guys mask, making the technique sparkle, etc, etc. Anyway much appreciated the feedback from everyone. Maybe I shouldn't set my sights too high, but I like to take big leaps :P |

Have you ever thought of making an animated signature. I've recently tried one. It wasn't great, but it was a request I made for someone. http://i1064.photobucket.com/albums/u361/PrincessChichi/augmented3_zps0960d075.gif ![]() It's not great, but it could help you on your quest of finding a way to do what you just said. Pretty much everything said here. I like it very much, the one piece Logo could be less gritty & more clear because its in more clear focus that anything else. So it sort of stands out too much I think. If you need any tips or help just ask & check out some tuts

An animated signature will be the best way for you to get what you want imo. I just didn't execute mine well. another example: http://i33.tinypic.com/2d10j6f.gif

Yeh I agree with havoc. Zoro and Sanji are looking like they're preparing for battle, whereas Luffy is in battle. Doesn't help that Luffy appears to be looking the wrong way (although he could be about to whip his arm around). I like the sorta tea-stained/old paper effect you've got going on though, suits the theme. Although I can see clear ring/chain patterns on both sides. Not sure if they're meant to be standing n some sort of platform held up by chains, but kind of makes it look like wallpaper once you notice that. |
