Posts: 1,998 Group: Member Member #7,432 Joined: March 11, 2012	Without the dragonballs there'd be no universe, no earth, no z fighters. The dragonballs have brought back z fighters, who've saved the earth and the universe. Kami noticed the presence of Cell before the z fighters even did.

They have powers and knowledge that Goku and others could never have. I think they are always useful in situations even though they aren't usually stronger. Kami is a great example. When Goku died against Raditz, Kami was able to take him to Yemma's for training with King Kai. That was something Goku wasn't definitely capable of doing at that time.

I never really understood Piccolo's role in it all he was like an advisor to him...why not just be guardian? He's far more powerful and knowledgible than Dende ever would have been.

That was something Kami has done for many years and he even tried to step down and give it to Goku after the 23rd TB. His time may have been there already to retire. I think everything important was fulfilled already while Kami left but Dende was there to keep them in order.

Without a namekian to create & sustain the dragonballs then their wouldnt be an Earth for anyone nor would their be anyone to protect it. Kamis see everything on Earth, they are aware of more than just the presence & energy levels of the villains Gokus encountered, doesnt mean they can beat them. As for the other Kais, I think the point is their wisdom & how they balance the areas they manage. Its not just about power. I mean you dont want Vegeta ruling the entire universe even though hes probably more powerful than most of the Kais that look over the galaxy. Warriors like Goku & Pikkon & others are just that. They are soldiers & angels to protect, not to manage & govern the lives of billions.

I believe it was more keeping an eye on everything on the planet and checking everything is working okay; The Z fighters and stuff come in as most of the problems they've been dealing with are on an entirely different level. Dende when he became the Guardian would have been taught more than just healing As for the rest I agree with it ^^

I thought Mr. Popo was a wimp but, he fended off Goten and Kid Trunks at SSJ for awhile. Don't underestimate. As for Dende, I think the job is more to be a knowledge role, not the actual fighter. Kinda like Super Kami Guru. He learned from the best and became a good overseer himself. So, yes there was point to both of them.

Posts: 9,150 Group: Member Member #5,265 Joined: September 24, 2010 Gender Not Specified Favourite Anime dragonball/z/gt/movies What Browser do you use? internet explorer or firefox	the god of a planet isn't necessarily supposed to be the strongest fighter. they are simply aware of the events and people on their planet. most do have special magic that allows them to better protect their planet, though. kami was an expert on magic materialization, to the point he was even able to restore the moon. he was also able to create a set of dragonballs (note that any wizard with the knowledge to do so should be able to create dragonballs, it's just that only the namekians have that knowledge), which definitely helped. dende was a healer, and had been trained to create and maintain dragonballs. guru had his potential release ability, and, again, dragonball training. the point is, all of the gods we see are potent wizards, not necessarily powerful fighters (except that kami used to be very powerful, and nail was being groomed to take over as namek's god, and dende should have also been quite powerful since his potential had been released). this, of course, means that goku also had the potential to be a wizard, if he had chosen to pursue that path.
	list of canon sources: the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga. list of non canon sources: everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality. for those that blindly follow word of god
