 I miss the dislike button. How else I'm I going to get my point across on a post that I don't approve?

 Yeah, I'm almost sure I can speak on behalf of the mod team when I say the dislike button isn't coming back anytime soon.
I personally don't have much of a problem with it, but it's one of those features that is just bound to get abused by people and it can be very limitative and help destroying discussions and debates instead of doing the opposite.

Plus, like Rebel said, if you really feel like expressing a negative or contrary opinion to some post you read, you can just go ahead and write a post about it (thus hopefully fomenting discussion).

 But its only a dislike. If people let a dislike destroy a discussion/debate, then the people involved didn't want to discuss the topic in the first place. I mean, likes are sort of abused as well; somebody could like another person's post simply because they don't agree with another person involved, not because they necessarily like the post.

 If someone gets dislikes on all their posts, they are going to start wondering if it's even worth posting anymore, likes it really doesn't matter because you can't discourage someone with likes.

The feature might be back in the future, just not saying when yet.

However the dislike button does not see why you disagree with someone, or think that they are wrong and it could leave the person wondering if they got a dislike because you disagree with them or because you're just fooling around.

Also I'm using the term you, but doesn't mean it's you just in general

 I find the idea of a dislike button very negative. Plus I don't know about anyone else here but whenever I got a dislike I'd get a bit resentful of whoever did it. Not just this but don't you also think it's kind of insulting too? It's much better to just state why you disagree with a person rather than labelling their post with a negative symbol.

 Oh come on. If you're going to do this, get rid of the like button as well. A dislike means nothing; its the internet, somebody disagrees with you. What if a counter has already been made to the person yet they continue to make the same point? Are you meant to repeat the counter? Why not just dislike?
