Would DBZ Kai Be Better Off If Faulconer Composed It?

Don't get me wrong, I love Yammamoto's music for DBZ Kai, but after he was caught plagiarizing, that me realized that know one can compose DBZ better than Bruce Falcouner himself. Although his music had flaws during unbattle scenes, his music was one of the most epic music of its time. But back to my hypothetical question, would DBZ Kai be better off if Bruce Faulconer composed it with all new and better music?

Bruce Falcouner actually didn't compose over half the tracks from the FUNI dub that he took credit for, so........

This topic is just lol.

Yeh Yama plagued, but Falcouner just made music that didnt even fit.

Kikuchi made the original score, and did not plagiarise.

so yeh.......

Answer is no anyway. Kai would have just failed worldwide.

edit: no love from me

I much preferred the music played in the Funimation dub than the actual original soundtrack, therefore if Kai had that kind of sountrack I'd see myself liking it more.

In all honesty though I'm not very familiar with Kai

As a kid I loved the FUNimation soundtrack, but as an adult it just irritates me now. It never shuts up!

I agree that his music didn't fit in some places of the series but when it came to battle scenes, his music justs fitted in perfectly.

Really? I've always assumed that faulconer composed all of the dbz funi music. If faulconer didn't compose all of the music, then who did?

I love most of the Funimation music, and I think it would have enhanced my Kai experience.

I will agree that FUNI music just doesn't shut up and plays over dialogue too much....but I remember there being an old version with crappy voice-acting, but having the music volume change depending on dialogue. >_<

2 other people (I think) worked with him on the tracks, but they both left the studio before the tracks were released to the public, which was when BF got all the credit for some reason.

A good example: There is a track called "Cell contacts Goku" in the FUNI dub, one which BF did not compose. It only played during Chi-Chi moments, though, and Cell never contacted Goku. One of the composers (as far as I can tell) shortened the title to "C contacts G", for "Chi-Chi contacts Gohan", and BF (apparently) just looked at it, and thought, "Oh, Cell contacts Goku, okay".

I think this video sheds some light as well.

Mike Smith, Scott Morgan,Trevor Sias, Ben Kasparek, Bud Guin deserve all the credit in the world for the music that we all know and love from DBZ Android, Cell and Freeza sagas. Bruce Falcouner def was involved but these guys did the majority of the composing.

Yepp, there we go, those are the guys. More than 2, but now I remember.

Faulconer's music is godlike apart from when it screws up comedy scenes. It makes the action feel so much more awesome, it makes scenes like Goku's return from otherworld feel more emotional and it makes scenes like pretty much every Super Buu scene feel more suspenseful. For me its a major part of what makes DBZ what it is.

Having said that I don't think it would have done good to re-use it in Kai. If they had it would defeat the purpose of having an alternate version and it would take away from the new experience. Kai relied more on its voice actors for the suspence, and even though I much prefer Faulconer's music to the music in Kai, it would have been pointless to use it in Kai.

"The future of Gohan. The Future of Chi Chi. Not to mention the future of the entire universe. It all depends on me!!!! And I don't care if you're a million times stronger than me! I'm not going to let them down! So get ready Frieza because this time you're going Down!!!"

Well yeah but keep in mind that in this hypothetical situation, Faulconer decided to compose dbz kai with a newer and much more better version of his music.

This is an interesting topic. Now, I feel Faulconer's score for DBZ was vastly superior to Yamamoto's Kai score. The original Japanese score (also used in the DBZ box sets) is very good, but gets too repetitive. Faulconer's style fit with the action dose much better than any other score, but it was awkward and lackluster the rest of the time. I don't think that Faulconer could've benefited Kai in any way, shape or form. Many of his tracks are memorable and easy associate with many key moments, but again. it was unfitting with even more.

Yamamoto's score just wasn't very good, that's plain and simple.
