So who is going to win Condit vs. Gsp?
I don't really care for both, but I'd like to see GSP vs. AS, and did anyone see Tyrone Spong fight?

Sorta depends on how GSP recovers from the knee surgery, hopefully he's healthy and he can fight at his best, if he does I think he can win with his wrestling. Condit presents a different challenge then Hardy, Alves, Koscheck and some of the other fighters GSP has gone against, he's dangerous everywhere, on the feet and on the ground he can finish a fight, there's no comfort zone for GSP where with Hardy he could take him down if he felt uncomfortable on the feet and with Koscheck he could stuff his takedowns and pepper him with that jab. Condit also is a WW naturally and a big one at that. Another thing is Condit is a former champion, WEC champion, so he's used to high profile fights and he's been there before. Should be an amazing fight. Read on another forum, that UFC announced that Anderson Silva is being flown to Canada and will be in the front row watching the fight, to call out GSP after the fight if he wins. Think it's sort of messed up to be honest, for Anderson to call out GSP now, after GSP is coming off a long lay off and potentially career changing injury. If the fight does happen I'll be rooting for GSP, as I see him as the underdog. Didn't catch the Spong fight, how was it? I haven't watched as muh mma as late, to be honest I prefer reading interviews and news about upcoming fights and how training camps are going more than the fights sometimes but will definitely watch GSP vs Condit. Rampage tweeted that he's fighting Glover Teixera too.

GSP was amazing as per usual but I have to give credit to Carlos Condit. Where did that kick come from? One of the bloodiest bouts I've ever seen too. Also how about that spectactular 80 second ko in the fight before it. That guy is a beast.

MMhmm GSP did an amazing job for coming off a acl tear and fighting a top contender in Condit. I like how he threw more kicks and he wasn't afraid to stand and trade. Showed amazing heart recovering from that head kick Condit threw. Great fight

Idk, GSP is alot smaller, although size does not equate wrestling ability. Think if GSP were to fight Anderson it would've been best after the second BJ fight, think than he was in his prime. Now he's 8 pounds lighter than he was before being injured, he's coming off an acl tear and for someone who relies on explosiveness for their wrestling like GSP that could be a major detriment. GSP needs to win 3 of the 5 rounds. I can see Anderson finishing GSP but I can't see GSP finishing Anderson.

Damn lost 2 mma followers....

Jon Jones is gonna fight Sonnen. According to Dana White a bunch of LHWs were called up, including Machida, and only Sonnen accepted so he got the fight. I'm not a Jones fan for a reason discussed here previously, but I hope he gives Sonnen a beating he cries about for years. He's the only mma fighter I truly detest.

I think I should bump this considering what just happened. Man do I look silly now. Overeem got hammered. Silva isn't even all that either. Overeem is a chump lol.

Just watched that KO....wow that was a big one.

Overeem hardly got hammered though, he dominated for 2 rounds. You make it sound like he never had a chance.

I don't think he did considering how much he underestimated his opponent.

The last fight was the best. That guy's kicks were insane.

I am guilty sorry everyone. RIP Emile Griffith. Jeremy Kyle is a prick. go make sumin of urself

Ok to revive this? Although it looks like everyone who posts in it ends up getting banned.

What's going on in mma now? Nick Diaz starting a little promotion in California (War MMA first event 22nd June), UFC lifting its cannabis threshold for NCs, Wanderlei and Sonnen beefing with Wand stating on mmajunkie radio that "it will happen" when a fan told him he wants to see him beat up Chael, Little Nog got injured so is out of UFC 161 (honestly not particularly excited about any of the fights at 161 now that Barao and Nog are out) unsure who's replacing him, Diego Sanchez somehow had the nerve to call out Melendez and Bellator: Fight Master will be debuting this month. One FC 9 just went down, not managed to watch it yet but a couple of belts changed hands.

Anything else? Anything on anyone's mind? MMA fans speak now!

“Making weed illegal is a little bit paranoid, don’t you think? It’s like saying God made a mistake, you know what I mean? It’s like, you’ve got the whole world and Earth and all its holy creations, right? And God is like, Hmm, lookit, my whole world in all its holy ways, and he’s like, Oh-my-me-oh-sh**, I left weed in here. Yeah right, I left weed in here. Oh, shouldn’t have smoked that joint on the third day.”

Is Nurmagemedov ready for a title shot? I don't think so. It's best for him if he has one or 2 more fights against top 10 opposition first so he can improve his striking.

Bisping is injured so has been replaced with Machida for the fight in Manchester, UK against Munoz. I like both guys and I'm glad to see Machida will be going up against a top 10 guy now which is what he deserves. The future of middleweight right now looks like Weidman, Machida and Mousasi.
That card also carries Jimi Manuwa vs Ryan Jimmo which I'm hoping will end in a Manuwa TKO/KO (he's won and finished all his fights by TKO/KO except for one which was a submission victory). Ross Pearson vs Melvin Guillard will be a great stand-up fight too probably.

Before that Nelson will face Cormier with Cormier cutting down his weight as he tries to move to the LHW division, Gilbert Melendez will face Diego Sanchez (which I'm confident will be a comfortable win for Melendez), Lombard faces Marquadt, Dodson returns after losing to Mighty Mouse to fight UFC newcomer Darell Montague, Horiguchi makes his debut out of Krazy Bee and of course Cain Velasquez takes on Junior Dos Santos again.

And even before that Jake Shields faces Demian Maia in what could either be a good grappling match or just be a decent-good stand up fight since Shields might not really wanna take Maia down. Maia is the fave for sure.

Aoki makes his feathweight debut in November at One FC 11 and Fernandes and Soo Chul Kim are in a championship unification bout at bantamweight.

Start of November sees Mike Bronzoulis take on Joe Riggs in Bellator. Bronzoulis is a very good prospect imo but Joe Riggs is no joke if his personal problems are behind him. Michael Chandler faces Eddie Alvarez and Tito Ortiz also faces Rampage Jackson....Bellator don't have any cards before that one that I can be bothered to type about right now.

Renan Barao's next fight is expected to be against Dominick Cruz.

Doo Ho Choi might sign for the UFC from Deep this week. He's a top prospect Chan Sung Jung claims he's better than him for his age or whatever.

Any thoughts? Any thoughts on any other fights in MMA generally? plz....
TUF 18? I only watched episode 1 but there was a British guy called David Grant on there who was VERY impressive. He was against a forme college wrestler who trains at Alliance MMA (where Dominick Cruz trains) and didn't get taken down EVEN ONCE. He looked strong as would be expected from a Brit in the stand up (but then the other guy's stand up sucked he just threw hooks) and then locked on a triangle at the end of round 1 only for the bell to go, and then locked in an arm bar in the 2nd round. Even if he was American or Brazilian or whatever I'd be impressed but it's nice surprise to see a Brit who's that well-rounded. I think I mentioned this before actually.
