I was first introduced to Dragon Ball Z when I was flipping channels and saw Goku fighting Captain Ginyu. I didn't know what was going on, so I changed the channel. I think it was on a local channel. It was before Cartoon Network started airing it. Later I saw it on Cartoon Network halfway through the saiyan saga and I was hooked. About myself; I'm now in my fourth semester in College and I hope to make some reviews and retrospectives about Dragon Ball in due time, but for now I must focus on studying and saving up money for filming equipment, upgrading my computer, and most of all, learning Japanese(in addition to German!). I plan on making my reviews and retrospectives akin to that of the Nostalgia Critic or AVGN episodes; funny but with valid analyses. I want to verify everything that Herms over at Kanzenshuu has posted in his strength checker and other threads, as well as enjoying Dragon Ball in its native language. I have to focus on German for now(as that is a college course I'm taking), but when I get a break from that I'll use Rosetta Stone to learn Japanese as soon as I can. I want to provide the Dragon Ball community with better insight into the original work so there will be less confusion and pointless debating. We may finally know the true facts. I've even tried to use Herms' translation to make a re-translation of Dragon Ball, but that was very time consuming just to do one page(out of thousands upon thousands of pages). Maybe if I get better with photoshop I'll be able to do it more quickly. Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope to fulfill all of this soon! |

The Rosetta Stone version I have has 3 different texts to read from, as well as romanized Japanese, that you can switch between. It was Kanji, Katakana, and Hiragana, I think. Whether or not RS has vowels inherent, I don't know, but you can't argue against RS being a great starting point. Just use the Kelvin scale. Edited by Selsiuss, Sep 19 2012, 07:14 PM.
