I've never heard of that Interview before, but somehow I highly doubt Toriyama would answer questions about Broly when he can barely remember his own characters.

In an interview, Akira stated that Broly can destroy a planet with a single punch. That pretty much answers your thread, Super Gogeta.
1. I doubt the authenticity of that interview
2. Even if it is true, the translation is "in one blow." Blow doesn't necessarily mean a punch
3. Broly isn't a canon character, what he can do has no impact on the series
4. Is it really up to AT to say what Broly is capable of? He's a movie character, all AT did is give a design.

His feats also do not support him being able to do that either. So yeah, I don't really think that answers much.
But going by power-scaling, they can do it by probably the cell games. Goku as a kid was pushing boulders much much larger than Master Roshi, and that's before the 21st BT. Also, he was jumping to the stratosphere. He was kicking Frieza through multiple islands and mountains easily. It makes since that by the Cell Games, they can do it.

But we can't throw his words like that.

Feats >>> powerscaling. No one has shown anything even remotely close to that level of physical strength. Besides, there's no proof that strength increases linearly with powerlevel, in fact the manga seems to imply that it doesn't.

Base Goku in Namek kicked Frieza through multiple islands that contained mountains. That's a fact. And he's massively weak compared to anyone in the Boo Saga.

Anyone from Vegeta (scouter) and onwards is capable of destroying a planet.

I've never heard of this interview either, been searching it all over the Internet and I couldn't find it. But based on Broly's feats, I don't think he can destroy the planet with a single punch. AT, more than likely, probably meant that he can destroy a planet with a single ki blast.

I think I may have heard something similar to what Super is saying about the interview, but it's a vague remembrance at best.

DBZ fighters Ki strength>>>>>>their physical strength.
That's why they use their ki to increase their physical strength.

I know that their Ki Power > their Physical Power, but I believe that they can do it from the Cell Games and on.

Goku's shown struggling with 40 tons in base, 400 tons if you go by the whole gravity thing, and yet he was pushing giant boulders that had to have weighed a lot of pounds when he was a little kid. That shows how inconsistent these weight things are when trying to power-scale.

We're not shown anything that puts him close to budging a planet.

Pushing a boulder has nothing on lifting a planet. A planet is filled metals, which are way denser than some rock.

And kicking someone far doesn't mean you can magically lift heavy things.
