Week By Week Surprises

Week one's in the books. What things caught you off guard after one week?

For me personally if I had to choose one thing, it would be rookie play overall.

I expected RG3 to have a good career but didnt expect him to play as well as he did. He looked like a seasoned veteran already.

Andrew Luck is the first guy that I believed should go first overall for a QB in quite some time and I must say I was surprised how he played. I watched the game and he looked alright, but I was expecting him to play much better. He already has everything needed to be a dominant QB (except the team around him). I expect him to turn it around quickly.

I must say I was a genius for drafting Alfred Morris a month ago when no one had heard of him and he was 4th on the Skins depth chart though :P. I knew he would be the starting back by the beginning of the season and he didnt disappoint.

The Jets scoring 48 blew my mind. I did not expect that at all.

Andrew Luck might fall under pressure and become a bust. Hopefully he stays together for most of the season and plays well.

Other suprises were the Falcons putting up a 40 burger and P. Manning playing as well as he did.

Biggest surprise for me is that the Patriots are ranked #1 in power ranking after beating the Titans by a few tds....

East Coast Bias?

Tom Brady Bias?

I would rank the 9ers over them as I don't think they can beat that defense.

I personally think luck didn't have a great game mostly because the pocket collapsed the majority of times and the Run game is still not at a great standard. In a few years, maybe even next season, they'll pick up some other great young players, I'm sure he'll get better.

I think it's still unfair to label rookies as busts after one game, Luck's already had so much pressure on him, but that amount of pressure was certain to be placed on him the minute he took to the field

On the other hand, least surprising for me was Brandon Weeden being horrendous

I think my point was proven yesterday. They're good and will make the playoffs, but by no means should of been number 1 in power rankings.

ESPN does a weekly power rankings list where they rank the top 10 teams in terms of offense, defense, and special teams.

Last week after the Pats beat TN they had them at #1 for some unknown reason.

NFL & other sites do the same. I can only think they put them at #1 because of the offseason improvements & just the fact that they were so seemingly perfect last season. Still its clear now they arent exactly killing teams like usual. Perhaps Cards had a strategy that was working well against Brady & the pass so they changed it up. The # of attempts Brady got in the first quarteror two were just terrible. In the end if Gostkowski makes the kick this is less of a headline.

New ranking have the Pats at 5 (still ahead of some undefeated teams)..

Niners are 1, Texans 2, and Falcons 3.

RG3 is great, but don't expect a lot from Alfred. He will be good but Not a lot of games like week one for him that's what Espn says I'm a huge skins fan and I personally believe rg3 will be in the top 5 QB's by next year if not #1 or 2
