I think Gohan grew to enjoy studying as time went on. Gohan was taught to study, which he grew to love, he even dreams about studying in one of the early dbz movies, think it was the dead zone movie or tree of might movie. Gohan has a gentle soul, he doesn't find fighting to be thrilling like Goku or Vegeta, he doesn't see it as a challenge to conquer, he does it because he wants to protect his friends and family. Yes, Gohan could've been stronger at the start of Buu saga if he dedicated himself to fighting but part of what made Gohan who he is, his concern for others and his caring nature, is what made him able to the great warrior he was and helped him tap into his potential when he fought Cell. If he viewed fighting in a different light, Idk if he'd be able to trigger the emotions he needed to ascend. |

agreed. and what you say is agreeable 90's dbz its quite possible that being ultimate and training for all that time, he could have just lost it, after regaining his SSJ. old kai actually did say that he had to rewrite gohans ki in order to have him fully access that hidden power instead of just only getting to it in times of great stress. Then he went beyond his limits, but didnt quite explain what that actually meant. did he draw out beyond his limits as far as body handling power goes? was gohan made physically stronger in order to contain that power? personally i think what happened in GT could make sense if: old kai relegated his power into base simply to erase the actual transformation, which SWALLOWS ki. regardless of it being mastered. Making it so gohan was strong ALL the time and never wearing out. or : he relegated that power to base so just in case he DOES get stronger eventually he would be able to turn it into power he could use. i cant say its impossible for old kai to do what he did with SSj, but if putting it in base made it easier to handle? then getting stronger should be the point, cause old kai said the ssj form was useless because it takes to much effort. while staying ssj eats up ki, ( im repeating now) so if gohans new power became his base power then the actual EXTRA power he develops would go into his actual SSj form, simply for EXTRA power. Because so far? it was all hidden power and rewritten so he wouldnt have to go all rage nut to use it. so it could make sense in that sense that gohan discovered he could still go SSJ, if he got stronger IN the ultimate form as opposed to in spite of it. Most people think the ultimate form means he's maxed out, which is why they dont like it in gt. But i think it makes sense. Edited by Paikuan extreme, Sep 7 2012, 06:27 PM.

^^^^ in short, just like eventually with the guru power up, he hit a base wall and had to transform to break it and get stronger in his base and ssj forms. I think he just got strong and had to breakthrough once again to ssj so he could power up and become even stronger. |
