I'm not sure if anyone has been following the Liga BBVA lately, but Ronaldo has stated that he is not happy being on Real Madrid. Some of the reasons why people have said he is unhappy is; 1. Iniesta won player of the year rather than him 2. Money (though he says it isn't for that) They showed a chart and he earns 10 million which is around messi's. Players like Torres, Eto, Ibrahimovic earn more than he does. Players who earn more than Ronaldo Article 3. He wants to be captain and get more cheers from fans. Article about that situation 4. His teammates don't seem to get along with him. Marcelo thought Casillas should get the trophy so Ronaldo felt betrayed by one of his closest friends on the team apparently. Article about his disatisfaction Lets be honest Ronaldo is an amazing player. There is no denying that, but Casillas IS captain for a reason. He earned it though hard work. He showed up and does the job with little complaints. The main reason why I don't like him on the field is because it is like playing a man down. He can beat people 1 vs 1, but half the time he is complaining about something. He is fast, strong, and can shoot with such power it is ridiculous, but that does not mean he can automatically win fans over. Manchester City said they would offer 120 million to Ronaldo. You know what? Take him and enjoy. Real Madrid could use 120 million to update their squad to be even better. There are teams in the BBVA who could use 40 million to make their team more competitive. I mean Athletico Madrid has Falcao and they still managed to defeat Chelsea. I can bet my money that the players on Athletico Madrid do not make anywhere near the amount the ones on Chelsea do. I never in my life heard so much complaining from a star player on the team. He took RAUL'S number for goodness sakes. If they didn't like Ronaldo, they would not have given him Raul's number. It is just insulting to me being a Real Madrid fan. Edited by Pookie, Sep 5 2012, 12:03 PM.

Honestly? I wouldn't care about that if we still had Ronaldo. He's simply awesome, his record for Madrid speaks for itself. This is clearly just hankering for a new contract because of the new tax laws for high earners in Spain, that's all. I wouldn't sell Ronaldo for all the money in the world because no matter who you get they won't be good enough to replace him (apart from Messi, but there's no chance of that). I understand concerns about footballers complaining but this happens a lot nowadays so it's just something you have to deal with. Just do what I do; sit back and enjoy one of the greatest footballers this generation will ever produce at his peak while you still can. |

I understand that Ronaldo is a great player. Real Madrid wants to keep him there is no doubt about that. To say that Ronaldo is irreplaceable, is ridiculous to me though. Falcao scores, works hard, and does it all on a team that places 6th place in the Liga BBVA. Granted, he has great midfielders who help him, but it's just to put what you said into perspective. Messi did not complain ,and he got a pay raise. In fact, I rarely hear anything negative about Messi like I do with Ronaldo. Ronaldo is ALWAYS being a diva. He is never happy. This kind of negativity can effect the team. If he wants to be captain, he has to earn it. If he wants a pay raise, he has to wait patiently. If he wants fans to like him, he should stop being sad and enjoying the fact that he is on REAL MADRID. Thanks to him Messi got one from Barcelona. It just goes to show that no one likes complainers. Yes, he scores a lot of goals, but when I watch their games, it is other players who do the hard work. He isn't like those strikers/wingers who come back and try to take the ball like Rooney, Messi, or Falcao. I would rather have Villa than Ronaldo, but that is just a dream for me. Falcao isn't Ronaldo's level, he offers a few qualities but he's just not the same. It's just my opinion, but in terms of forward player Ronaldo and Messi are in a league of their own at the minute. The amazing thing is they are still consistent as well and both get very few injuries. Ronaldo just offers everything at the highest level: pace, power, goal scorer, set pieces, skill etc. He gets roughly a goal a game for Real, a goal a game! In the current climate, that's incredible, most strikers would be happy with 1 in 2. |

I mean I understand your opinion about Ronaldo. He is a very talented player and is a world class one. However, how are you going to say Falcao isn't by Ronaldo's standards? Did you watch Falcao against Chelsea? When Falcao is in front of the net, he does not miss. Also, lets compare the two shall we. Ronaldo has top-notch midfielders that pass him the ball on Real Madrid. Falcao is on a team that placed 6th in the Liga BBVA last year or somewhere around there. He scored 3 goals against the Eufa champions league winners Chelsea who have all-star players throughout their lineup. I am getting to the point that Ronaldo needs a good team around him to play well. What does Ronaldo do when he is on Portugal? Portugal has some good midfielders like Meireles, but I don't think they are as good as Ozil, Xabi Alonso, Khedira, and now Modric. These midfielders are the reason why Ronaldo does so well. He doesn't do anything that I feel is worth noting for Portugal because he does not have as strong as a midfield as he does on Real Madrid. I didn't think he played that great in the Euros despite scoring an important goal in the third game. Messi, on the other hand, he does make a big impact on the field. The other day when Real Madrid played Barcelona, Messi put in a free kick from 20 yards out against Casillas. Barcelona was down a man in that game. Yes, Real Madrid were outplaying them in the beginning, but once Barcelona got into the rhythm in the 2nd half, they started doing better with a man down I remind you. They were also missing players like puyol and villa who would have caused the game to change dramatically. Messi, on Argentina, has similar struggles to Ronaldo with the lack of midfielders that can provide him the ball. He still impacts the game with his work ethic and his ability to beat players. Now back to Falcao. Real Madrid has talent all over the place. It isn't like an Athletico Madrid where Falcao is the ONE standout player. I can assure you that most players on Atletico Madrid don't even come close to making Kaka's salary who is a substitute on Real Madrid. Falcao is similar to Ibrahimovic when Ibra plays for Sweden. Sweden do have some good players who aren't as recognized, but when one thinks of Sweden, one thinks of Ibra. An example would be Elm who is a great Swedish player, but is overshadowed by Ibrahimovic's big presence in the game. If Ronaldo worked harder on the field and complained less, he would be a much better player. His ego gets in the way. I think Ronaldo needs to be less selfish and understand that there are other star players on the team that deserve recognition just as much as him. The fact that Falcao can play on a team that isn't even considered the best in Liga BBVA and still perform is why he should be compared to players such as Ronaldo and/or Messi. This is why I think Falcao is better than Ronaldo and will be a player to watch out for in years to come. Edited by Pookie, Sep 5 2012, 02:21 PM.

I am almost certain Ronaldo is either throwing his toys about because he didn't win player of the year award, beacause he's not captain, wants more money in a new contract, or all 3. To be honest when you have some like Iker Casillas who lives and breathes Real Madrid, it's a certainty he'll be captain until the day he retires. If he keeps going like this I won't be surprised if Mourinho drops him against much weaker opposition to begin with. If Ronaldo wants to go, why now, on the back of one of his best ever seasons, one of Real Madrid's best league campaigns in living memory? Because he is a childish little brat is why. If he wants to leave the only big team I can see him taking a risk with is Manchester United. City and PSG could also afford him, but he knows how much the United fans love him. I am certain he will end his career somewhere with a huge payoff (MLS) It's a shame he's like this, he's just as good as Messi in my opinion, but his attitude is the reason why myself and many others I know despise him |

Oh, and regard to Falcao, he's one of the world's best strikers, but I feel he is more suited to a team that isn't at the very top at world level. I feel he wouldn't start at any of the extremely rich, high end clubs like both Manchester clubs, Barcelona, Real madrid or PSG, but he'll always be there or thereabouts with a great team, like he did at Porto, and now at Athletico Madrid. I think he's a great player though, one of my favourites! |

Iniesta totally earned player of the year...He was the best midfielder in the game this year hands down. Ronaldo has no reason to cry bout that. |

Why do you compare Ronaldo with Falcao? Radamel might be the best striker in the world right now but he is good only on finishing chances, he can't create chances on his own. Ronaldo can do both and he is a better player in overall but there's still no point in comparing these two players cause they play in different positions. |

He may be picky and high maintaining, but he's a good player. He might even be a baby sometime, but for his country and his team, he's the ICON. He can be. |
