I'm on chapter 76 and I've been watching some Youtube reviews and everyone is saying this turns into a 'Jersey Shores' battle manga where it's easy to predict. Is that true? Be honest with me people ;_; I'm really into it right now. To be honest the first few arcs have been better than the first few of Naruto/Bleach/One Piece but they pick up (Chunnin Exams/Soul Society/Aarlong Park) where everyone says Fairy Tail drops off. Personally, I think it can be a little inconsistent. It starts off really well and it's very enjoyable, but it has some poor moments and there's a couple of times there's been plot developments that have made me facepalm. There are some predictable fights and troll moments but then there's also some really good developments and surprising turns and fights that have good strategy involved to balance it out. It can get cliche, especially with the nakama stuff, but I still see it as really enjoyable. Heck, I today just re-read an arc I didn't like too much at the time and thought "actually, this is pretty good." I think it's worth staying with and that people exaggerate it's flaws. I will say this; it's never been as painful to read as Bleach sometimes is.

The thing that stands out that everyone's back story is explored with some depth without them having to die first, but the fights are enjoyable due to the nature of magic itself and how it is applied (and that's hard to predict sometimes). Don't listen to the haters, they're pretty much like anyone else that exaggerate Bleach/Naruto even if it's not that bad lol. And on the latest anime episode: Spoiler: click to toggle I think it was utterly stupid Hiro made 1 day in the Spirit World = 3 months in the real world (not even that funny as a gag joke), with the FT team having no time to train but get second origin to power up. 3 months of training like the other teams would have worked just as well seeing as we saw how they trained on the first day, though then again it might not explain the dramatic increase of magical stamina better, who knows haha. But the highlight was the variety of Plues, lmao.

Saw my first friendship powerups weren't too bad because Natsu looked ***ing awesome when the dragon flam shadow appeared behind him Great still so far guys! Oh and him carrying Erza was epic. That kind of makes me mad considering I find her character a great one that doesn't need to be overused like it is. -The iron dragon dude better not be a bad guy. I can't tell if he's good or bad. He seems like a triple agent or somehting but he's pretty cool. Him saving Levy from Laxus was cool. -Power Levels are extremely hard to gauge, even more so than Bleach. I mean you have some people with feats like cutting through dimensions that end up being simple fodder to the next week guy. -Natsu just defeated Laxus. He should be able to go on S rank missions. If I had to make a powerlist I would have him ahead of Erza. Favorite parts so far are: Spoiler: click to toggle -Lucy visits her home and tells her father off. Was epic bananas. Also, like that fact that Lucy isn't the cliche type of anime female lead. She's useful, unlike Sakura and Inoue -Gray is a great secondary character. His backstory was awesome. I want to see him use Ice Shell but I don't want him to die. -Intrigued by the Master's son who comes up occasionally. -Intrigued by the dark magician that is mentioned every other chapter. I assume he will eventually be back. -Intrigued by what Igneel said while Natsu was fighting Laxus. "Maybe he will be a strong enough human for what he will have to face" -Like the idea of guilds in general. Makes everything neat and organized. Easy to follow. Spoiler: click to toggle - Yeah, tbh you'll have to get used to Erza because she always gets heavy plot involvement. - Gajeel is badass, all that needs to be said - Lol yeah, powerlevels can be difficult to get. It's slightly easier a little later on though. - Laxus is still >>> Natsu. Natsu only won because Laxus used up magic casting Fairy Law plus he had just been fighting two DS at the same time and Gajeel had absorbed one of his attacks. It was a situational win, like Natsu's win over Jellal was. - Yeah, females in general have more involvement. Lucy is in it quite a lot and we've already said about Erza. - Yes! We need more Gray fans, most of the fandom don't like him from what I've seen. - They are good things to be intrigued about

Spoiler: click to toggle - If I recall, there are FOUR main characters...Lucy, Natsu, Erza, Gray. I think it may have been in some interview, but don't quote me on that. But yeah, get used to Erza. She gets a lotta screen time. - Gajeel? - In the beginning, yeah, power-scaling is sorta poopy. Feats are all over the place, but it just takes longer to interpret what's goin' on (not that I'm very good at it). - Nah, like Copy said, Laxus >>> Natsu by a long-shot still, hence why Natsu still wanted to fight him again afterwards. - Yay, I actually like Lucy's character a lot. - Gray's pretty cool (again, he's a main character too, methinks). The stripping is funny. Not much on his backstory, but it's interesting nonetheless. - Orly. - K. - Okay-dokey. - Yeh, it's a nice idea. Fairy Tail ftw though.

Gray should have around the same fans as Natsu, as they are around as awesome/relevant/powerful. 3. Same thing for Gajeel 4. Everything that people are intrigued by will likely be answered at some point. 5. At some of those things said (like what Igneel said), makes a lot more sense to up to date manga readers in hindsight (like me) which is awesome to look back at.

I would much rather hear more about Natsu/Gray/Lucy... Anyway on chapter 170. They just defeated Midnight, Racer, Blaine, etc. Now Gerard is back and apparently good? Even though he says he lost his memories? Also, another main bad guy came from now where and is about to blow up the guild belonging the girl named Wendy who if a dragon slayer and eats air. Another thing... I kind of like the random fillerish chapters thrown in. The last was about the new guild and how they made Natsu turn the pool into a hot tub and Gray make it an ice pool, etc. Kind of cool and borderline fanservice which is good if rare. Does anyone agree that at the point I'm at Natsu should be able to go S class missions? Also, he could beat Erza in my opinion. He is an Ichigo type fighter. If you're at where I think you are, no, I don't think he could, honestly. Maybe he'd come close, but I can't really tell for sure because their fights are mostly separate in these parts. But......

They'd have been screwed on that island if Erza hadn't eventually caught up to them. Natsu got lucky in his biggest fights so far, he wouldn't have beaten Jellal if not Natsu being lucky that the Ehterion gave him a powerup rather than killing him and he wouldn't have beaten Laxus if the latter hadn't used up his power casting Fairy Law and other spells that Gajeel took the hit for. S ranks do those missions on their own, I doubt that Natsu would survive without help.
