Spam section was a treat for a little get away and being able to be a little spammy, it is not needed, and do it gets abused, it gets taken away

Edit: exactly spam isn't supposed to be the attention of the forum, yet it is becoming the attention if the forum. It's not needed, have normal discussions. Plenty of other sections to enjoy.

King, you're free to ask whatever you want. We encourage you to do that.

So what is it you don't understand? How the spam section can affect the whole forum for some people?

Ani-Nation was right. After all this time...th-they shut it down.

You know, this isn't a permanent closure, right? It would be good to make it a temporary thing, allowing members to cool down and stop trolling.

No it's not permanent. It will be opened again when we think the time is right.

Mods still have to look at spam section, it's already bad enough with spamming/trolling occurring thought the DB section as it is. The trolling/flaming all need to cool.

Spam isn't permanently closed as Lord Cooler said

Ok. I can only give you my own take on this question, though.

The way I see it, I believe some people on this forum have had some negative experiences with our staff ( for being suspended and whatnot) and have since then adopted sort of a "daredevil" attitude on the forum. They seem to keep using the spam section to subtly get under people's skin with either excessive trolling or passive-aggressive remarks about some members, and that's something that has an impact on the whole community because it makes it get divided into different groups that aren't necessarily pleasant in the way they interact with each other most of the times.

It is an issue. DBZF used to have a really friendly environment and that's something I've always been proud of. I've been here for 6 years and this is the first time I see such a clear division among members here. There's nothing wrong with the spam section itself. The problem lies on how people have been using it as a platform to willingly set other people off/annoy them/provoke them. It's usually done in subtle ways, but the hostility is there.

There's absolutely no need for that in my opinion. At the end of the day this is just a dbz forum and we all came here in the first place to discuss the series and have a fun time interacting with the community.

If you feel like one section shouldn't affect the whole forum, then I don't see why this is so bad. As you said it won't affect the forum, enjoy the forum for it's many other great sections

Indeed. I agree.

Personally, I think that some of the members have to change. Not themselves, just the way they post. Sometimes, posts can be very hateful or it can seem like a person is bashing another's opinion, even though their original intention wasn't to do so. People need to be more accepting of other's opinions, don't say that they're wrong unless you're sure beyond a shadow of a doubt and have sufficient evidence. I've seen too many topics degrade into an exchange of insults and, quite frankly, its unnecessary. Its hardly giving off the best image of the forum. I know, I've been guilty of doing everything that I've said, but the thing is, if we continue this behaviour, it will be detrimental to everybody. So I hope that when the section does eventually return, we'll all be able to have fun there without such behaviour again.

When people type something as absurd as DB Goku vs Omega Shenron they deserve to be bashed IMO

Well, in such cases as that, when the answer is glaringly obvious, the best response would be to either ignore it or report it, although I can understand wanting to bash the opinion, even if doing so would be the incorrect course of action.

Hmmm, the spam section has bit it for the time being huh?

no surprise, some members attacks were blatant. outright crying most of them.

In the end i can see how it affects other sections as the same members tend to just move what they do.

The clear division here is deeper than just difference of opinion, its intolerance.

The spam section could be used as a release. But if the only reason you come here is to either antagonize or troll others? pretty anti social.

Otherwise it seems like a good time, and the only time things like this get reported is if:

it really IS out of control

or people are just complaining and setting you up to get angry so they can report your posts.

Nothing new, and highly common these days. I dont make use of the report button myself. Doesnt mean whats going on isnt clear.

TBH? most of the trolling here is just weak. Thast why the name calling and insults, no other avenue to take, when its the only reason you are here.

The worst thing I've seen there was staff members themselves picking on other members. I won't name any names, they know who they are.

If that's the case, PM their names to myself or Tim, explaining what they did and it'll get sorted out.
