If I'm remembering correctly, at one point when the people of earth were destroyed, Goku and the z fighters wished for only the good people to be revived. Do you think this is fair? What if someone was like Piccolo, Vegeta or Tien and they started out bad but changed their ways? That sort of person would be gone for good.

Why not say, Shenron please wish back everyone Majin Buu killed except for Babidi and Dabura? And if Babidi and Dabura were revived, it's nothing the z fighters couldn't handle right?

Yakon and Pui Pui Yamu Spopovitch etc will also return, and what if they decide to kill bunch of people before they could be killed off, more innocents will die just to bring back a bunch of baddies that MIGHT turn good

Goku suggested that but Vegeta didn't wanna see that little imp, Babidi again plus that wouldn't of brought back all the people Vegeta killed at the tournament. Think he said that too.

Shenron should have asked 'please define good person'.

But when they revived everyone killed by buu piccolo, tien, chiaotzu, yamcha, 18 and vegeta all came back so it wasn't an issue.

Supreme Kai is supposed to be the god of the dragonball universe, right? I would argue that it is in fact Shenron, he somehow just knows things and can bend the rules of reality with relative ease. Which means that the final villain in GT is evil god.

Which could mean "good" is a relative term in regards to Shenron. Perhaps a probationary period depending on evil in the body? Tien in Z was allowed into heaven whereas when Vegeta died it wasn't clear cut which side of the cutoff he'd stand.

The problem here is that DBZ simultaneously implies that there exists innate good/evil within the hearts of characters and that it's possible for evil characters to be redeemed based on their actions. Mixed messages?

Novacane for the pain

^ It's a Shonen manga, just roll with it :p

I don't see why bad guys deserve a second shot at life, especially when the one's they were hoping to avoid caused the devastaion to the world that they are repairing.

It may be typical of the genre, but still, the subconscious picks up on these subtleties and attempts to fit them into our paradigm or reinforce what is already believed. Artists should really be careful about how they express themselves.

Enough of my rambling here I guess.
