Hi, I'm UltimateZero! I have a confession to make though. I have never seen a DBZ episode in my life. >_< I'm nearly 15 and I didn't grow up in the 90's, so it was never on TV. I have read a bit of the Dragonball manga, though. I was just really curious to ask you guys if you would recommend DBZ to a teenager who doesn't have any nostalgia attached to it. I'm a huge fan of Death Note, FMA, and Bleach. Would I like this? Also, I'd appreciate it if you'd tell me which version is in your opinion the best.

I hope to get to know everyone here and have a blast on this forum.

Yeah, do it I guess if you like it. It's not as well-developed in terms of characterization like other anime/manga, but it has a pretty interesting plot and cool fight scenes.

It's definitely worth checking out. Maybe watch some of the movies and see if you enjoy them? My picks for movies would be Bojack Unbound, Fusion Reborn and Broly the Legendary Super Saiyan. Especially Fusion Reborn. Nice avatar btw, I haven't tried any of the megaman games but the cinematics I've watched on youtube for the games are awesome. Duo's my favorite character.

Yeh it's good to watch before the modern action series. I recommend watching Dragon Ball, and then DBZ, not going straight into DBZ. It's not the best in terms of plot/development, but it's an important series in terms of setting a base.

I also recommend.......

Hey UltimateZero! You should definitely give DBZ a try not only because it's a great anime but it's only curtsy to at least check it out seeing as you joined up to a DBZ forum.

What be the haps UZ, I hope you're well.

My names LAU, I can't wait to start talking to you around here. Yeah, make sure to post ALOT. Of course, after you spend a little time on here and take a good look around, you'll be AMAZED at how many things there are to do...I know I was. Topic after topic, there's no end to the fun this place has to offer.

Wait until you take a look around. After you're done looking, I dare you not to start posting like a maniac. This place REALLY does have it all, great members, a great layout, and a great leader...what more could a person ask for. I have a very strong feeling this forum's going to become one of the best DBZ forums in the world...at least that's my opinion.

Anyway, don't worry about not ever watching DBZ before because remember, it's NEVER to late to start. I've been watching DBZ sense I was 9 years old (I'm 21 years old now) and it's always been one of my favorite cartoons EVER! I'd definitly recommend watching DBZ first because it's the best of the three versions (DB, DBZ, DBGT) in my opinion. In fact, now that I think about it, you don't really have to watch the DB in order to fully understand what's going on in DBZ...you can just skip that whole first series (DB). Still, I'd highly recommend watching DB one day, but for right now, just jump ahead to DBZ, trust me, after the first few episodes you'll be glad you did. All the DBZ movies rock too, so definitly give them a watch someday as well.

You know, I've never watched Death Note, FMA, or Bleach...are they any good?

This is a matter of opinion, but I would say avoid watching Dragon Ball Z Kia (the version they have on tv now) you want to get the old US broadcast version and watch that (what they showed on Toonami back in the 90s). It has better music and stuff, even though the picture quality isn't as good as kia. I think its a better experience personally.

The only way to watch this version is to find it online,or get the box sets. Even in the box sets to have to manually turn on the music in the DVD menu. <_<
