Instinct... Its amazing.

Put a pillow over your head, try to suffocate yourself. At a point, your mind will force yourself to life that pillow.

So, with this said... Do we all fear/instinct not to die?

I think so. I think it's the opposite though we want to live much more than we want to die. The instinct on survival is deep within us. We have a "Flight or Fight" reaction in the face of danger as well as choosing to do nothing that's the thing but our conscienceless. It can override any primitive instincts we may have whether that's a good thing or bad thing is still unknown to me.

It's not a fear of death, it's a natural instinct to lift the pillow.
The blonde girl with the black lips turned to Valkyrie.
"We know," she said. "We've seen the future. We know you're going to kill the world..."

Release it Gohan! Release everything! Remember all the pain he's caused... The people he's hurt... NOW MAKE THAT YOUR POWER!!!!

But if you accepted death, you would push more on the pillow?

There's a difference between fear and not wanting something.

I don't like the taste of avocado, or the texture. If someone tried to make me eat them I'd avoid it. I'm not afraid of avocados, I just don't want them.

Similarly, I'm not really afraid of death. I don't want to die, I like life. I'd fight very hard to stay alive but I don't fear dying.

But we are born with an instinct to survive.

Instinct is different from fear, so your scenario isn't a very good one. -_-

I think we fear what comes after death, not necessarily death itself.

A lot of people fear death because they cannot fathom not existing in some form. The idea that there's nothing after death is a pretty hard concept, but the simple fact is, if there's nothing after death, it doesn't matter, because you want have any sort of conscience to worry about it.

I don't fear death. Its a natural occurrence and it happens to everyone. The more you fear death, the less you can enjoy life.

That being said, we commonly stop ourselves from ending our own lives purely on instinct. Our basic, innate message is to survive.

Jugger knows what i'm saying.

Why do people fear death? 'Cause we don't know what death may bring. When you die, you leave the trail of your life and the pain to your loved ones. But in the end, once dead, we don't know where we go. Do we live on in soul? Do we go to a heavenly place or hell for some? Or, doe's all our spirit and brain just shut down and for enternity everything is black.

But like Jugger said, if there is nothing for us after death, what doe's death matter? You can't feel remorse or regret. You won't even know you are dead.

the scariest one is if we will simply stop existing. its not black if we stop existing, it's nothingness because you no longer have consciousness, it's simply ceasing to exist at all. and one of the things thats most scary about that is we can in no way imagine what it's like to NOT be able to imagine.nonexistence itself is inconceivable to the human mind.

and I'm sure that no matter how religious you are, we've all thought at least once about what happens if... nothing happens

This terrifies me, but is, IMO, the mosty likely occurence.

It's not that scary when you realize you simply won't care. It's like being in a deep sleep and never waking up.

At OP, well, all organisms are meant to survive and reproduce. This would obviously also give us the instinct to want too live in normal cases.

Well you put a pillow over your head and you're dying slowly...no one wants that. It's probably more of instinct because no one really puts a pillow over their own heads to kill them selves. You either shoot your self, hang your self, etc. I guess it's just the fastest way to die, no one wants to feel pain.
