San Francisco 49ers; OH YEAH BOY 12-13 Season

With arguably the best defense in the league, the 49ers come back in the 12-13 season loaded with powerful offense to match their dominant defense. Look for Alex smith to become more than just a game manager, especially with such prolific targets like Mario Manningham and Randy Mofo Moss.

49ers go to the super bowl this year.

Ponder played the best game of the year against us. We weren't prepared for that
Yeah and you guys got "6" timeouts. ;)

In all honesty, I will hold by what I said when this topic was started. I really think Alex Smith is a weak point in that offense. They are a gifted team there is no doubt. They WON'T win with Alex Smith. If they do, you can quote me on this.

HOWEVER, I will say this. I don't know who the backup qb is for the 49ers. He had brief showings in the game. He wears number 7, but DAMN he is tall and can run. Why don't you guys start him instead?

Edit: I just looked him up.

7 Kaepernick, Colin QB 6-4 230 24 2 Nevada

He will be a star. If you guys don't use him, I see him being big in the NFL. Those briefs plays that he had. He showed a lot.

Alex smith is not the weak point. Look at those numbers. He's a top 10 QB without a doubt. Look at his ratings.

Giant Offensive Coordinator called out 49ers DT Justin Smith

Kevin Gilbride.

Smith is a beast on the inside. He’s strong, he does as good a job of grabbing a hold of offensive linemen and allowing those twists to take place. He never gets called for it, so he gets away with murder.

I know it's all mental, but I'm sure this is locker room material for the 49ers(not that the need it of course). Hope they win, still haven't forgotten the mess he left in SD back in '98.

It works both ways. Carlos Rodgers has been saying if hes an interception or prevents Victor Cruz from getting a touchdown then hes going to do the salsa which is Cruzs signature dance whenever he gets a touchdown in remembrance of his grandmothers death. That game is going to be intense. Both sides really hate each other at this point & I imagine its gonna be a good rivalry going ahead.

I didn't hear about the controversy surrounding this game beforehand. I just was expecting it to be a good game anyway. The 49ers probably took the Giants too lightly. We got some weapons that many people don't know about. Our third string running back, Wilson, is so quick.

One thing I don't understand is why the 49ers don't use Randy Moss more often. It baffles me that Smith doesn't throw to him more often.

Looks like the Giants still continue to have some fight in them.

Why do the Giants always seem to play the best as underdogs? You would think winning last year would make them world beaters. Heck they're even in NY.

The reason is because people STILL underestimate them. People STILL hate on Eli Manning. The Giants have a talented team. Even when they have injuries, they have a depth on their bench that allows them to keep up with the best of teams. We lost a lot of players after the Superbowl victory of last seasons so that's why they were placed on the back lines once again.

Eli Manning is not Peyton and he will never be, but he can THROW accurately. I'm sick of people always hating on him. He doesn't panic when they are losing which allows the rest of the team to keep focused. He keeps relaxed and puts throws right where his receivers can get them.

The fact that the Giants D believes that their team can come back from a deficit gives them that drive to keep pressuring so in a way Eli has something to do with that.

It also helps that we got a running game going. We got 3 backs who can do some damage.

One last note;

Also, agree or disagree, the NFC East has and always will be one of the toughest divisions. People tend to over look that fact because of the teams not being 5-0 or 4-1. At any given night, the Giants, Eagles, Redskins, or Cowboys can win and beat any other team in any division. It makes getting out of that division tough.

It's okay though. I'd rather the Giants fly under the radar.

Alex Smith Reverted back to Bust Smith. Disappointing game to say the least.

David Akers was off on his game too.

This was a bad game in general. Giants were on fire

I don't put the blame on Smith. The 49ers did the same thing the jets do. Your backup is good, but that doesn't mean he should come in. I don't like these new offenses using two quarter backs. When Smith was in a rhythm, they took him out to put the backup in for some plays. Say what you want bit that screws any momentum Alex smith had.

I don't really know why this offensive strategy is popular. Could you imagine peyton or tom being taken out when throwing good plays. It doesnt make sense to me. I'm no football expert, but playing sports and watching them, makes m realize how important rhythm, pace, and patterns are important to football.

If the backup screws upon a down, then you basically put more pressure on the qb to get the first down.

Also you guys had little to no running game with Frank gore. I think that will change when Jacobs is healthy for you. He gives a break um change of pace to the running game. He hurts and tires defenses. Then gore can finish them off.

No, alex screwed himself. He started throwing picks before Capernick went in.

Capernick works because he's a better version of Tebow. He's a better Alex Smith.

I don't know if it would be smart to change Alex Smith mid season. Stick with him. I'm sure he will do better as the season goes along.

Niners had trouble with Seahawks. I don't think they're #1 or #2 in NFC anymore.

We had trouble? Excuse me? We held the seahawks to two field goals. The Packers couldn't do that.

I'm talking about your offense obviously.
