San Francisco 49ers; OH YEAH BOY 12-13 Season

With arguably the best defense in the league, the 49ers come back in the 12-13 season loaded with powerful offense to match their dominant defense. Look for Alex smith to become more than just a game manager, especially with such prolific targets like Mario Manningham and Randy Mofo Moss.

49ers go to the super bowl this year.

I am not saying he is a weak link because he is bad. I'm saying it because of what I have seen from him. It is not his receivers, not his running backs, not his defense, or anything that will make him fail. It is all up to him on whether or not the team goes into the playoffs or not. He has every weapon at his disposal.

Do you remember the patriots a couple of years back when they went 18-0? The 2007-08 season. They were in the same position. The only difference is that Tom Brady had already proven himself as a worthy QB. Alex Smith has yet to do that. To the Patriots, losing the Superbowl was a failure. It will be the same for the 49ers if they do not make or win the big one. Who will be to blame? Alex Smith will certainly be to blame.

I see the Jets and 49ers being in the same boat.

Alex Smith HAS proven it, he did it all last season and is continuing to do it this season.

He's shown amazing grit, by eating the Sack rather than running around like a chicken with his head cut off while not surrendering the ball to a fumble.

He's shown the ability to read the defense and make good calls on where and when to throw. He also has more than one target to throw to. Before he had one person to throw to, and that was V Davis. Now that we have more wide outs that are VIABLE this has opened up our play action tremendously. Gore has been getting insane rushing totals, and when Gore rushes for over 100 yards in a game, we have something like an 85% chance of winning.

We are hands down the most complete team in the League. On all sides, Offense, Defense, and Special Teams

EDIT: Alex smith hasn't faultered once last season, or this season. He hasn't made a bad turnover in forever. You can't even point a finger at Alex smith as a weak link. No. Ben roethlisberger is worse than Alex smith (Yeah, I just went there.)

How can you like New Jersey & San Francisco. They are no where near each other. I say yer just a bandwagon boy. SIlly fan boy. Real niner fans cried for a decade before Jim Jarbaugh came around
Uhh, I've been a Niners fan since I was 7. You are not limited to your geographical location to pick a favorite team. I grew up with people who loved the 49ers, and I've loved them since.

I love the New York Yankees in Baseball, the 49ers in football, the Devils in Hockey, and Italy in soccer.

I don't like basketball.

Don't call me a bandwagoner
Just teasin babe. Im very happy for Niners. Nobody has it better than them right?

Anyway, as for the topic of Alex Smith. I think that hes been thorugh so much adversity that people think thathis failures are solely because of his abilities. I disagree with that. I think hes tough, he wants to stay in Niner nation to prove to the people that drafted him that he is a winner & he is capable of being a leaderin a championship type team. I hope that when those 2 minute drills hit in those clutch games/moments that he steps up & wins it for the team somehow but for now the Niners are going about things alright. I havent seen a single power ranking that doesnt have the Niners in the top 3. Most of them have them at #1. I hope the team stays healthy for him. Quite honestly I want a Harbaugh vs Harbaugh Superbowl with the ravens pulling out a win then Niners winning next season or something.

I'm not saying Alex Smith can't win the big one or he hasn't shown that he can be a good qb. I mean he went to the playoffs last season so that does show something. I just feel that right now he has a lot MORE to prove especially with the team around him. In a way, Alex Smith reminds me somewhat of Kerry Collins. I'm unsure why.

Aaron Rodgers was in the similar position a couple of years ago. He had to fill in the shoes of Brett Favre.

The pressure will be high for the 49ers to win this season. It is go big or go home time.

I have to say that the Jets are in a similar boat. They have, for some time now, said they were going to win a Superbowl. I have, yet to see that happen.

Oh, and I see the Minnesota Vikings next week bringing an upset to the 49ers. With me cheering them on, they will win. :w00t:

Vikings are my 2nd favorite team. :p (I had to edit that in.)

Damn the niners played flat today, but in all seriousness, I was kinda expecting a loss, this was a trap game after all.

*Vic Fangio the 49ers D coach, underestimated Ponder.

*Defense played extremely flat.

*Alex played like Alex of two years ago, and he had to throw an interception at some point.

*Lack of urgency in the 4th Q, kinda got into rhythm in the 3rd but it was to late by then.

*Underestimated an NFL team, on their home turf, which is a loud AF stadium.

Overall the Niners let the Hype get to them, I call it "Rocky 3 Syndrome" LOL. Now they get to learn from their mistakes and take every game like its the Superbowl!

Also kudos to the Viking's for capitalizing on the niners today, giving credit where credit is due.

Ponder played the best game of the year against us. We weren't prepared for that
