Haha looks like I might be an outcast.
My favourites were the Star Wars: Republic Commando series, The Shining, Black House, and It by Stephen King
Call me a spooky nerd if you will, but I remember those books very vividly.
And I think those Stephen King books scarred me for life.

I also like the Star Wars books, read a few, they're quite long and there are over 50 books if I'm right. I'm also into scary stories too, liked The Shining miniseries movie, the original movie kind of sucked for me; Jack Nicholson's actors' wife had a terrible/wierd acting, I wasn't even feeling sorry for her.

I don't agree. I think the books are fantastic, because you can enter completely in the world and in the characters JKR made. The movies are full of confusion, you can't understand all the story without reading the original one. However, I really like Alan Rickman, he's perfect as Severus Snape. :)

Formerly known as daman

Jimmy Coates series by Joe Craig (cousin of actor Daniel Craig actually).

Gotta be the best action series for teens. Think Terminator but more martial arts and government secrecy. NG7 with the green stripe....watch out! I'd still recommend giving the first book a go no matter your age. The sequel I remember was even better somehow, and the rest of the series was good, although I haven't read all of them now.

edit: honorable mentions-

The Alex Rider books and the supernatural series by him....forgot the name. Him being Anthony Horowitz.
Artemis Fowl series
Judy Moody series
Framed

Goosebumps was good but I watched the tv show more then read the books. Are you afraid of the dark and goosebumps were the bees knees when I was little. Any episode with clowns instantly turned off lol. Freaked me out too much. The first harry potter was good too, think I read a bit of the second but I couldn't get into it as much as the first.
